So, this is from when I went to visit Araeph and FractalDawn in Boston for the Hobbit premier last month. Uh . . . I wouldn't quite call this a "Gathering Report," as it barely features PPCer interaction. It really is just me talking about my unexpected journey, there and back again.

It's a real shame you didn't get to sit with the people you, uh, flew across 2/3 of a continent to see. :( But at least you got to talk to them afterwards. Having met both of them, I can confirm that they're really cool people!

I got an excellent review/lesson in Tolkien, and all the ways Jackson changed things.

That does not surprise me in the least. Did she have charts? I'm betting she had charts.

but she just couldn't pull them out while walking. Also, our hands were cold!

(Two thirds of a continent. Wow. Hadn't quite thought about it in those terms before, but I guess that's true, huh? Cool!)

That kind of sucks that you didn't get to spend much time with Aeraph and Fractal. Still, I'm jealous you're able to travel.
