Shame all my Legos are already used up by their respective Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings sets. Otherwise I'd totally make this.

But fortunately, I can remedy that right now:
The PPC Advent Calender
It dates back to 2008, but fortunately, the length of December is constant. ;) Each day gives instructions on how to build a PPC-themed Lego model (quite small, for the most part), along with a panel of an ongoing story within the calender. It's associated with Generic Surface (the comic), but I don't think it makes any particular references.
Have a nice December!

I probably don't have all the needed parts and used up all my LEGOs to build a beach house years ago...but nice!
Yeah, it basically used random stuff I happened to have around. The masses of grey come from Generic Surface (and specifically from Techno-Dann kindly sending me a whole heap of grey bricks as a present - thanks again, Dann!), while the rest is just... random stuff.

And dude, it is amazing. Where was I back in 2008?
...right, fifth grade. *sigh* Seems like I missed out on a lot of stuff. Like the Reorganization, the emergencies, the Original Series... Can't say I'm upset to have missed the Board being invaded, but still, you oldbies have a lot of stuff to reminisce about while the new kids are playing catch-up.
I was always a bit sad about missing out on the Original Series - I joined just after Jay left, though she popped back in about twice (and also IMed me out of the blue about Jaycacia Thornbyrd... fortunately, both she and Acacia thought it was funny). But... y'know, most of the Big Stuff wasn't that big when it was happening. Generic Surface went mostly unnoticed; Reorg was always popular when I got something posted, but had an eighteen-month-or-so gap in the middle. The Emergencies... well, only the Mary-Sue Invasion was a full Board RP. The Macrovirus Epidemic was mostly Tawaki writing a couple of stories (and killing Makes-Things and sending the Board into a frenzy), and the others were the same sort of thing - one person writes a story, other people react.
And those still happen! The Blackout was only last year, and spawned more reaction stories than any other event since the macroviruses. It wasn't planned, either - it just happened. The cool things happen because people write stories, and you're one of those people now. Scary, ain't it?
And... well, watch this space. Later today, a new chapter in the history of the Protectors may be opening up, and you - yes you - could help create it.
hS is a massive tease
Lucky for you, you happen to know somebody with Legos to spare! Up for building this sometime?
