Aww, that sounds really fun! Wish I could go
Hello, everyone! As some of you know, I am involved in a gaming and anime convention that is run by the college I attended. Well, it is time for me to plug that convention again! Only this time, there are almost 6 months between now and then, to make potential travel easier to plan.
So, without further ado: AlmaCon!
Now, in my mind, the biggest points of interest are LittleKuriboh (YuGiOh Abridged) and Doug Walker (The Nostalgia Critic). However, if you watch any English dubbed anime, we have several prominent American voice actors in the line-up, as well.
The Con takes place in Alma, MI on February 7th-9th. It is gonna be a good time and I hope that some of you can join me and Neshomeh there.
Let me know if you have questions, comments, or concerns.

(I really hope the Princess Bride reference was an intentional one, otherwise my subject line is going to make no sense whatsoever)
As it happens, there's a chance that I'd be able to attend. I don't think I could afford the flights over myself, but the company I work for does a lot of business in the states, so they send people over quite regularly. I know there are already a couple of projects they're talking about sending people over for in January/February time. I'll have to see if I can get myself assigned to an early Feb one, and then I might be able to visit the Con around work.
The reference was entirely intentional.
We'd love to see you if you can make it, though I doubt your place of employment does any business in a kind of out of the way area of Michigan.

I am not left-handed!
... wait, no - it was the other thing.
According to the map in the company meeting room, they do actually do a fair bit round that kind of area (although I've got no idea what scale that map was to, so that could still translate to several hundred miles away).
They actually use a manufacturing company across the border in Cananda, so people have to visit that fairly frequently. According to Google maps that's only 250 miles away from Alma College. Yeah, OK, 250 miles is still a fair distance, but I figure if I've already flown a few thousand it wouldn't exactly be much of a detour.
If I can convince my company to fly me out sometime round the Con I'll certainly see if I can make my way over.
Aww, that sounds really fun! Wish I could go
