Hey all.

I've got an original world I've gone back to trying to develop. A lot of is pretty sketchy and incomplete, though, and while I have the beginnings of some working notes for it, it also needs a lot of work--plot, characters, fleshing out the world, all of it.

I've talked to several of my very close friends about it at length, but I'd like a pair--or multiple pairs--of unspoiled and more objective eyes and thoughts, to tell me where I need to work on more, if I'm being incredibly stupid, what is too heavy-handed or too obscure, etc. I don't have actual writing to be beta'd yet and won't for a long time, but doubtless I could use thoughtful eyes on the worldbuilding so I can do it thoroughly and carefully. I'm also looking for someone who can tell me if it's too derivative; I will note that a lot of this I had thought up long before I read certain other sources of inspiration, and some things will have similarities no matter what I do, but I do very much want that check just as much as general sanity-checks and suggestions on where I need to develop more.

The world is approximately medium medieval (more or less medieval, anyway) fantasy--medium in that it is not exactly low-key to no magic, but it isn't setting volcanoes on fire or grand quests or anything--hopefully with a lot of humor (and romance, I'm a sucker) mixed with intrigue, assassinations, and war. I'm definitely looking at varying influences on different areas and would appreciate having some input on how not to end up accidentally stereotyping that. Oh, and bards. Bards are important in this universe.

Let me know if you're interested, and a contact email would be nice to have, too, as I don't really know what I'm looking for yet.
