Hi there guys. I'm James Shields. I may call me James.
I feel I have lurked around PPC enough. I got to know you guys through Tv Tropes. Since then I have read every relevant introductory material, including The Original Series of course, a good deal of spin off series and plenty of the wiki pages. So I figured it was time I joined The Board.
I am from Brazil, my first language is Portuguese, though I pride myself enough on my English that plan on taking translation as my career choice.
I have plenty of major fandoms so lets break this down a little bit
Animanga: Nanoha, Sakura, Sailor Moon and most slice-of-life stuff
Cartoons: MLP:Fim and Arthur
Literature: Harry Potter, Anne of Green Gables, A Little Princess, 1984, Brave New World and Les Miserables
Tv shows: How I met your mother and Brothers and Sisters
Videogames: Mass Effect
Visual Novels: Kana: Little Sister, Katawa Shoujo and Clannad
Also among the spin off, I love Firemagic and Sergioturbo's stuff, Unpleasent Memories and All Done With This Niceness and Negotiation Stuff are my favorite missions.
So... that's about it. Hope that wasn't too much of an Info Dump. If I have left anything to be ask, ask away! -

This question makes me think. The wiki's article on oldbies says oldbies are people who've stayed around for two or three years. I fit that description, but I feel more like a midbie because there are "older" people here (PPC-wise). Is the article outdated, or am I really an oldbie and I just don't notice that?

You've not only passed Minimum Expected Standards ages ago, you're exceeding them with flying colors now, which is a general mark of 'oldbie'.
Basically, you actually know your stuff and can answer questions correctly without getting the person asking(and/or yourself) confused, which is generally a good stamp on whether you're an oldbie or not. -

Good to know you've done your research. I like Sailor Moon too! Have you been watching Sailor Moon Crystal? It looks SO COOL! (I should probably get back around to watching the original anime; lots of fond memories there)
Do you play Super Smash Bros? You referred to yourself as a new challenger, so that made me think of that game. (I'm kind of bad at it, so I mostly watch and cheer.)
Anyway, your newbie gifts are popcorn, a Kero-chan plushie, and a classy black suit. Enjoy, welcome a'Board, and may you keep your sanity as long as possible! -

Good to know regarding the goodfic part. I'd really like to see an agent from you from the Harry Potter continuum, we need more of those to deal with magical Sues!
And to answer your question...
"The Fwooper is a magical African bird with brightly-coloured feathers, which can include orange, pink, lime green and yellow. Listening to the Fwooper's song will drive the listener insane, so each bird must be sold with a Silencing Charm placed on it. [...] Uric the Oddball once tried to convince the Wizards' Council that the Fwooper song was actually beneficial to a Wizard's health, and listened to it continuously for three months. His presentation did not go well, when he turned up wearing nothing but a toupee that, on closer examination, was revealed to be a dead badger." [source]
Crimsun is one of the colors on the Sue Spectrum, which refers to impossible, notoriously eye-burning colors produced when a Suethor misspells or mishandles colors in a badfic. Crimsun is "a disturbing mixture of hot pink, lime green, and orange", and since Fwoopers come in all three colors, I figured it fit quite nicely. -

I really see myself having a HP and or Nanoha agents(s) when the time comes for that.

Misses target * SOMEBODY HELP ME! * Finally hits target *
Oh good. Anyone knows If Color Change Charms are included in one of these and if they work on Suvian colors -

Yes, as Firemmagic noted all of my missions and interludes are named after Culture spacecraft, though the prelude isn't and one of them ("End in Tears") is actually a Rock - mobile space habitat. An OU is basically a Culture fighter craft, and out of all Culture ship types they're the most... morally disagreeable as they're built to love war.
As to my favourite Nanoha goodfic... I think Game Theory and its sequel Power Games are a safe bet. -

I like the Game Theory-verse. The worldbuilding fixes are awesome and it's nice to see Fate be treat semi-decently by Precea for once.
I personally love the Nanoha-Slayers crossover Blood that flows. -

From my understanding, only the colors of the cover and spine (binding?) are affected. Paper should be a nice, safe shade of white.
