...I'd like to ask three questions, so I can get some community feedback. I mean, I've been here for about a month now, but I've been binging on the PPC the entire time and I've read the permission rules, so I believe I know what I'm doing. I REALLY don't want to look like I'm rushing things, unlike a certain individual who was sent away recently.

1.) Will I need to write both the control prompt AND the random prompt for the permission request? And since I already have the control prompt beta-reviewed and fixed up, is it acceptable to post it for public review?

2.) Is it acceptable to claim an RC number prior to obtaining permission? If so, may I kindly take RC 227 (in reference to my Pokedex number)?

3.) I wonder if I can get official permission by the end of this month, seeing as I feel prepared. However, if I can't get permission at this time (given that again, I've only been on the Board for a month or so and most Boarders take a bit longer to know the community), would this coming autumn term (i.e. sometime mid-September) be acceptable instead?

The way I see it, this is less "30 days" and more "enough time to see what sort of person you are/you can interact meaningfully with the community/etc".

1. Yes, we want to see one of each. Just one in the suggested length range wouldn't be much to go on.
  
  As for posting for public review, I'd advise against it. People often chime in on Permission threads, so you'll get feedback then. Posting a story twice could be a little attention-grabby.
  
  2. You can have one in mind, but no, you can't actually claim one until you have Permission.
  
  3. I can only speak for myself here, but I feel like I've seen you around enough to have an idea of who you are, so I wouldn't turn you down for asking too soon. However, you should do whatever makes you feel more comfortable and confident. The stronger you feel about your request when you ask, the better. {= )

Thanks for the responses to #2 and #3, I'll keep that in mind. As for #1, is the random writing prompt chosen by someone else or is it acceptable to pick it myself? Thanks for the response again :)

To quote the 36 Permission Prompts document:

"To select a random prompt, click here, or otherwise roll two six-sided dice. Use the results to navigate to one of the cells in the table, and then choose your favourite prompt from the two in the box."

I got 2 and 6 - "One agent incorrectly accuses the other of something."

Sounds right up my alley, given Falchion's false memory shtick. I'll wait until the end of the month to get permission, and I'll take care of the second writing prompt in the meantime. Hoo boy, I have plans for this bird... ;)

But here is the wiki's official word on 2:

"To claim a response center, you need Permission first. Once you have it, you may add your RC to this list provided it isn't already in use by someone else."
