Pretty neat series about a girl becoming a Grim Reaper. One of many.
And, seriously? Ivan Drago as Chakkik? Hah! :D

Here's a fun little game for you to kill boredom:
If there was a movie adaptation of the Protectors of Plot Continuum...who would you cast to play which roles?
My choices are:
For my own Agents, Will would obviously be Matt Ryan, and VJ would be Willa Holland
As for others...
I always imagined Shakira as Luxury
- Monica Bellucci as Marina Nicodelli
- Callum Blue as Valon Vance
- Hugh Laurie as Nume
That's what you get when you have always imagined your Agents anime-style and live-action adaptations always felt off to you.
(If anyone has ideas, though, they're more than free to share.
What anime fellows do they most look like, then?
Nikki's pretty easy, she's basically a grown up version of Sakura Kinomoto from Card Captor Sakura (Basically? More of "literally, she's a badfic clone after all)
Corolla, as a Unison Device from the Nanohaverse, was heavily based off Reinforce Zwei from that continuum
Sergio... hm, that's a good question. Yukito Tsukishiro from Card Captor Sakura, but with Takeshi Iori's (from Gundam Build Fighters) range of facial expressions, if that makes any sense?
That's 'Protectors of the Plot Continuum Cinematic Unlimited Universe(s)', of course. The 'Unlimited' is in there to make the acronym funnier because we've got multiple actors for different agents, so temporal consistency is probably out the portal.
Someday there will be an actual actor in the PPCCUU. And that will be probably me so weird.
hS
But, presenting Liam Hemsworth as Des! Benedict Cumberbatch as the Librarian! And Toshiro Mifune as Navare.
Added bonus: Frank Oz as Marsivil Getrono-Parsim Amris Handrahen Trehebil-Makat's puppeteer.
I may need assistance.
I require the sharpest looking, pointiest, most tall and skeletal-looking balding man for Bingle, and the deepest voiced Australian-or-similar-accented man for Finch.
Well, his voice, anyway.
Suppose his visual representation could be filled in by a painted fridge. Or a conveniently shaped rock.
Buzzfeed to the rescue with "Who Would Play You in the Movie About Your Life?" Just answer the questions as your agents and see what you get.
I'd be interested to know what other people think of this thing.
~Neshomeh
Not-an-Agent-yet Hieronymus would be played by Ian McKellen. I like the idea.
For Androia Avatar, Buzzfeed gave me Abigail Breslin. I don’t know who this is, she definitely doesn’t look like a World of Warcraft night elf druid, and I realized that I need to think and do research about some questions I couldn’t really answer for Androia. Has she ever been in a school? What classes could she take there? Are cleaning and doing the laundry actions player characters can do? I’m sure that Androia never had a lawn to mow, and I know that she can read, but did she ever learn to write or would doing paperwork be out of question anyway? Which of the toys I have to choose from would she actually know, and did she even have a childhood, or was she spawned fully grown up at Shadowglen?
HG (probably not asking for Permission this year)
Good old Buzzfeed.
They have a series of buttons on the top of their page saying 'LOL' and 'WIN' and 'OMG.'
That's lovely.
That's very lovely.
That's very totes random omg lol legolasissohawt.
But I digress.
Finch managed to bag himself Benedict Cumberbatch, one of the few actors I do know.
We'd have to run his voice through an old radio, or perhaps a grater, but otherwise, I think it might just work.
(No, not really, but I won't get anything better)
Bingle got Rob Lowe, who's definitely got his chin, but, er.
Not much else, I don't think.
If Rob Lowe didn't eat for a solid three months, and had no blood, and his hair started falling out, perhaps.
I don't quite think I'm comfortable with running myself through the Buzzfeed machine because, er...
'LOL,' 'WIN,' 'OMG,' 'CUTE.'
Laura would be played by Zooey Deschanel, whereas James would be Rob Lowe. As for the Bad Slashers, Gremlin would be played by Emma Stone and Xericka would be Amandla Stenberg.
Huh.
Well, those are certainly… results. While I haven't really thought too much about who would play my agents, those particular individuals don't really fit the bill (although I will admit that Rob Lowe could play a pretty good Danny if he bleached his hair). Emily Deschanel would be a better choice for Laura then Zooey. I could see Laurence Fishburne as James, although I'd need to hear his accent work first.
I have no idea who would play Gremlin or Xericka. I thought Tilda Swinton would be good for Xericka, but she's already been claimed. I'll think on it some more.
And I got Amandla Stenberg.
I am whiter than some scared milk.
Make of this what you will. =]
Marina would be played by Emma Watson, and Richard by Nolan Gould. Now, I don't know about this. I guess it can be interesting, but...
... someone would fill in my agents for me. I'm really rubbish at this game, so I was looking forward to it.
And now it turns out I get two choices for Constance! From Ix and Scapegrace.
... so then this happened.
(Drawing specific people is not yet my forte, but I hope they look at least vaguely like their models.)
hS
*looks around and shiftily notes it down for September*
Dafydd Illian would be Colin O'Donoghue, whom my fellow connoisseurs of televisual garbage will know as Captain Hook from that august barrel of lunacy Once Upon A Time. The guy who plays Killian Jones, a man for whom death really is like man flu, seems like a natural fit for one of those agents who came back from the dead. =]
Since it'd be wrong to have one without the other (though their kids'll have to wait because life really is too short), Constance Sims is Shenae Grimes of 127 Hours fame. This, I admit, is largely based on appearance, though if movie!Dafydd is hotter, then so is movie!Constance. =]
As for my agents, well... my agents might all be humanoid (with a few exceptions), but I think a PPC Movie might well require them to be CGI just because of how cartoonish they are. Anyway, here's the voice cast for my motley assortment of total weirdos.
Wobbles: Anna Faris. She has the bubbly voice for it, and I think she'd be good at voice work; getting her into a fatsuit or something for a live-action performance might be trickier though. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that my first choice was Amy Poehler, but Nesh poached her, the swine. The feeeeeeelthy swine. =]
The Notary: Carmen Ejogo. A wonderful voice that sounds old and young at the same time - a perfect mix for her. Plus, she's got experience of more emotional parts, meaning I really think she could pull off the pathos for the part; there's a lot of history for the Oncoming Form. =]
Doktor Trollenfisch: Ray Fiennes. Now, strangely, this part does not require an actual German to play the Doktor; rather, it requires someone willing to ham it up to a ridiculous degree and just plain old have fun with the part. Fiennes' turn as Victor Quartermaine in Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit proved he can do both. Everyone had an absolute ball making that film, and I think that's what has to shine through with the Doktor und Gabrielle.
Gabrielle: AnnaSophia Robb, and yes, that is how you spell it. This is mostly on the strength of her performance in a weird little film called Jack of the Red Hearts, in which she displays the girlishness and grit combined that makes Gabrielle such a compelling character to write for. Small floof, many damage; perfect for Ms. Robb.
Lola McCandless: Clare Bowen. Now, American viewers probably know her from Nashville, assuming they know her from Adam, but she's an Australian actress and veteran of Home and Away. That said, I refuse to hold it against her. =]
Algernon, 7th Earl Wymbourne: Toby Jones. I was exceptionally tempted to cast Eddie Marsan in this role, but Jones won out in the end. He's an immensely talented actor with an amazing presence and voice, and I think he'd do well with the part - though whether or not he'd enjoy going back into a sound studio is open to debate. =]
Former Agent July Flame: Michelle Rodriguez. If anyone can wield a sledgehammer with serious conviction, it's her. She just seems to... fit the character a lot, especially post-snap - July's neurotic disposition covered by anger almost feels like giving Rodriguez the role would be typecasting, given her appearances in other media.
Agent Calpurnia Library: Tilda Swinton. Another good fit, though one wonders just how good her American accent is. Her slightly icy archness would work as an excellent counterpoint to Rodriguez.
Agent JF: America Ferrera. Again, she just seems very much like a natural fit for the role, though I admit this is based on years of sitting through Ugly Betty with my mum. Might have to do something about the T-shirt though, some of the other agents might find it offensive. =]
Honestly, I can only think of one agent of mine that has an actor counterpart:
Ceka: Lauren Cohan
I only really know who I'd cast as Nume (Timothy Omundson a la Carlton Lassiter in Psych) and Derik (Gerard Butler, because duh). For the rest, I have no idea.
... So I found a way to cheat! Buzzfeed has a quiz called "Who Would Play You in the Story About Your Life," and I've shamelessly used it to cast the rest of my characters.
Ilraen - Nicholas Hoult. You may know him as Henry McCoy in the recent X-Men movies. I can see it.
Jenni - Amy Poehler, who I know from SNL. Iiiii dunno about this one. A comedienne wouldn't be my first choice. She's the voice of Joy in Inside Out, though, so that's kinda cool.
Gall - Elle Fanning. Apparently she plays Aurora in Maleficent, but I haven't seen it, or anything else she's been in. She's adorable, though! Give her red hair and an evil smirk, and I can see it.
And, just for fun, I did Nume and Derik, too.
Nume - Benedict Cumberbatch. You all know who he is, right? Excuse me, I'm gonna go die laughing now. (Full disclosure: this was actually my second result for him. First time around, I came up with Idris Elba, rumored to be the next James Bond, who I think is a bit too cheerful and, as Phobos said, debonair for Nume.)
Derik - Idris Elba. ... Yeah, I don't know how this is possible, since I gave totally different answers from when I was playing as Nume, but this time I think it could work! So yeah. {X D
~Neshomeh
I just finished a psych marathon and now I'm feeling the Shules feels.
Sandra Bullock. She's got close to the right look, too.
Also, Henry - Max Records. Eee, that kid is cute. I like him. ^_^
~Neshomeh
My pick for Nume? Jack Dee. In the link, he is the initial speaker, and his miserabilist tones (if not his accent) just seem to make him perfect for the role.
Here's my pick: Noah Wiseman. The image is a promotional still from The Babadook, one of the best psychological horror films in recent years and something I urge everyone to check out. This is a movie that will mess with your head for months afterwards, and that's just about the best thing a horror film can do; not on jump scares, not on gore, but purely on the strength of an oppressive atmosphere and the central performances of Wiseman and Essie Davis.
Actually, thinking about it, Davis might make a good Jenni as well. Or not, up to you.
Christ, now I've got to think about my characters. I'll get back to y'all on that.
Adorable serious-face crossbow child! I love this choice. ^^ I might keep Max Records for <a href="http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3813349632/nm2504006?ref=nmphsmd_1">surly teenager!Henry, though. He's even got a good nose for the part!
Hmm, I'd have to see something with Davis in it to judge whether she could do Jenni. ... Though apparently she had a small part in The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, which I don't remember, so point still stands. Maybe I'll check out The Babadook. It sounds like the kind of horror film I'd actually like. {= )
~Neshomeh
He makes those. And that thing on his back is a cricket ball-firing mangonel arrangement. He's... he's an odd child.
But yeah, I highly recommend checking out The Babadook. But don't just take my word for it; William Friedkin said it was the scariest film he'd ever seen. Yes, that William Friedkin. So it comes with a seal of approval. Plus, Essie Davis plays a nurse in it! So that's helpful for gauging her Jenniness. =]
I remember we had a thread sort of like this back in January. I stand by the choices I made back then, especially Aaron Dismuke as the voice of Chris and Tara Strong as the voice of Ami.
Take these with a grain of salt.
Chris Pratt as Matthew, with his hair dyed a bit darker
John Cho as Ajax, who is canonically Asian
Sophie Cookson as Levy, Kingsman 2 HYPE
Robert Downey Jr as Nickul, for multiple counts of Badass Bookworm credentials.
...this thread regarding voice actors for PPC agents.
To be honest, though, I'm not entirely sure about what to choose for live-action actors for my agents, although Halle Berry as Rashida still makes SO much sense, and if Keira Knightly would make a good VA for E.V.L., I bet she'd be good for a live-action version of her as well.
Still find your choice interesting though. Besides, contacts/retcon exist.
For Richard, I'm thinking about Jesse Eisenberg, mainly thanks to Zombieland. By the way did anyone watched American Ultra, one of his latest movies? A shame he didn't do any film in 2016 Dawn of Justice is a lie.
Not sure for other agents, I'll need to think about it.
I was actually going to suggest Daryl Sabara for Richard.
As for the others... er... uh...
Dolph Lundgren as Chakkik is all I can think of.
Pretty neat series about a girl becoming a Grim Reaper. One of many.
And, seriously? Ivan Drago as Chakkik? Hah! :D
Now you have me imagining Rupert Grint as Ilraen. Look at him, he's adorkable!
Hm, others, others...
Katie Leung, otherwise known as Scottish Cho Chang, as the Aviator.
Ryan Potter as Zeb. Just listen to his voice acting in Big Hero 6 and you'll know what Zeb sounds like.
Melissa Rauch as Kala - dunno why, but she's short and blonde and can be a mite intimidating when she starts shouting. I think it works.
Rahkee Thrakar as Naya. Just a gut feeling.
Mayim Bialik as Constance Simms. She could totally pull this one off.
...oh, I know.
Ashley Tisdale as... *drumroll* Jaycacia Thornbyrd! Suddenly explains why I read all of Jaycacia's lines in Candace's voice... :P
Rupert Grint as Ilraen, I mean. It could work!
Re. Hugh Laurie as Nume, that is hilarious, because Nume is partly based on House. And by "partly" I mean kind of a lot, actually. Misanthrope, brilliant, substance abuse issue, only tolerated because he's just that good... see what I mean? *g*
~Neshomeh
Also, interesting choices! And yes, Rupert would definitely pull off Ilraen.
I wouldn't have guessed Scottish!Cho as the Aviator. For the Third, I'd pick Angélica Celaya.
By the way, I'm curious - what about Farilan? I kinda adore her superiority complex, and the moments when she gets shut down :D
Nothing makes me cringe more than a badly-imitated accent. It made sense to me. (Though if Ms. Celaya can pull it off... :P)
And Farilan... Hm. I'm on mobile so I can't link an image, but you know Marian the Librarian from the 1962 The Music Man movie? That's pretty much exactly like how I imagined her as a human.
I keep looking around for Jay and Acacia and can't seem to come up with anyone who would fit. :(
But one quick trip to Google show me that she looks perfect! :D
Hmm... how about Jane Levy for Jay, and Rachel Leigh for Acacia?
... I give you the first teaser image for this movie:
