Subject: Help with critique

Alright, so my friends asked me to critique an original fiction they wrote, but I'm not sure where to start other than spelling, grammar and clichés. Any kind of advice would be very much appreciated.

You can:
-tell them about whether or not you enjoyed the story
-leave comments as you read about what your reactions to just about everything are, even if it's just that you think a line is funny or a character is growing on you
-tell them what you think of the characters. If applicable, tell them what else you'd really like to know about these characters, and if they feel like people to you.
-if you spot things that make no sense or that look like plotholes, these are useful things to point out
-let them know what emotions you experienced while reading (this can also be left in comments at the appropriate points)
-tell them your favorite lines (and why)
-tell them your favorite character (and why)
...and a whole lot more, but that's probably a good start! Hope it helps.

PS: Okay, yes, there are other points to learning from experience, but they're irrelevent to this message and are therefore being ignored...even as the postscript about them begins to nearly double the length of the message.
