I don't think I actually fixed anything since last time.
Kelly and Injerd - present tense get a mission

I actually don't like writing in present tense. I'm including Injerd in a prompt because I might end up using her first.

I don't know why I bother. The ones that aren't voices in my head yet aren't going to stick to the script for long. -

I'm still interested in a beta. If I look like I'm missing, it's because I'm going through some things and sometimes getting to a library is difficult. I did find one that's not so loud, but it's a bit of a drive.

A word of advice... by

I'd recommend against posting the links to your beta material publicly. Beta reading is meant to be pre-access and behind closed doors, so that you can improve your content prior to public release. I'd also advise to ask your betas if your material is ready prior to requesting Permission; that's something you didn't do last time and we all know what happened then. ^^;
That being said, I'm very sorry for not being able to beta at all until now, due to my job and other commitments taking up most of my time. I'll make it up to you as soon as I can, though given my schedule I can't guarantee I'll be able to do as much as other betas can. And anyway, I'd suggest getting multiple betas to help you out, as at least two or three would be better to catch stuff one alone could miss. -

I never know when I'm going to be on next, so it speeds up the process to let a volunteer grab things directly. There aren't any nibbles yet, but hopefully it doesn't mean anything.

Trouble finding stories. by

There are a few stories that I have in mine to do, but I don't have a good one for September's first mission.
Both of these seem like the charge list isn't long enough.
The first one is NSFW

This one seems like it might not be a wow-bang mission.

I think this one should be her third at the earliest.

I do not want to do "It's not a blender" or whatever that Star Trek one is... too many charges and I'm probably going to avoid trollfic.
I kinda want to make September the Sci-fi partner and Injerd the Fantasy partner. But September would be writing a letter about the rewrite.

If the story that's being sporked is in present tense, does the mission have to be in present tense as well?

There is no rule that I'm aware of against writing missions in present tense. However, it's pretty uncommon in general, and (like Des said) is usually only used as a gag or a brief obstacle when it turns up in badfics.

You can try and write it, but it will be very hard to pull off properly. It's like writing in the second person.

The Only Way I Could Really See It Working... by

Is if you wrote the mission in first person. I'm not sure how you'd write an Agent PAIR in first person without using the same perspective flipping that we use a charge, but it could be neat if done correctly. It would just be really hard to do correctly, and also pretty much wreck any ability to do a crossover mission, since your style of writing missions wouldn't mesh with anyone else in the PPC.

Present tense works just fine in third person. by

At least in my experience of reading and writing it. I've never tried a PPC story in it that I remember, though I certainly could give it a go sometime--could be interesting.
As for first person... interestingly enough, I used it for part of a currently mostly finished mission, for a couple of reasons. It wasn't the agent's default setting, though--but that would be very interesting to try out, and I wish I'd stop getting so many ideas right now, because it isn't at all the best timing /stares down brain/
But yeah, third person present tense can work very well, until it jars you out of it and you go 'wait, this is in present tense? I didn't realize until just now'. And so on. But it does work.

How does "I actually don't like writing in present tense." imply that I'm going to be doing it all of the time?
I have messed with first person, though I'm not great at it. Captioning for the blind actually has third person objective. -

Your previous post has made the rest of us (or maybe just me) start talking about how a present tense mission could work out. I'm not necessarily prescribing that you make use of any of this, I'm just thinking out loud about what might work.

However, you can use "being in present tense for a while" as a gag. Just... not the whole mission, it makes it a pain to read. Same goes for script, centre alignment, italics, second person, etc etc.
