Arthur (from "The Girl in the Fireplace") and Susan ("A Town Called Mercy").
If you know who they are you'll know why it's funny. :P

Alright, let's be honest here: who on this board DOESN'T have a weird ship/OTP/what-have-you or two in their noggins?
*Looks around*
*Sees nobody raising their hand*
Yeah, that's what I thought.
So, what's the weirdest pair of characters you've shipped or have seen being shipped?
For me, my weird ships include:
Sharptooth (Land Before Time)/Indominus rex (Jurassic Park): They're both bloodthirsty dinosaur monsters who seemingly live solely to kill.
Godzilla/Ogra(Gorgo): Both are colossal monsters played by guys in suits who are extremely devoted parents-Godzilla towards his son and Ogra towards Gorgo.
The Cyclops (Ray Harryhausen's Sinbad film)/The giant Ymir (20 Million Miles to Earth): AKA proof that I watch WAY too many Harryhausen flicks.
Smaug (The Hobbit)/Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty-classic animated version): Admit it, you'd totally read a fic about this.
Ones I have seen:
Biollante (Godzilla franchise/Big Macintosh (MLP: FiM): I saw a piece on dA of a ponified Biollante flirting with Big Mac, and it kind of grew on me (*badum-tssh*) after that. They're both giants among their own kind, and have an affinity with plant life.
Bowser/Mario: Yes. Really. The story behind this was that Luigi and Peach were going out, so Mario and Bowser decided to start seeing each other to spite them.
...would be Miko and Tsukiko from The Order of the Stick. I don't know where this came from, but it could have been cute. In a creepy and disturbing sort of way.
So, in The Door Within trilogy (spoilers ahead, by the way, but I don't think they're too horrible), from which I take my screen name, there are two universes: Earth, and the Realm. Earth is, well, Earth, and the Realm is a parallel universe populated by what are known as Glimpses. Each Glimpse has a human twin who looks just like them and shares their beliefs/allegiances, though they may not be the same age (to steal the explanation straight from Wikipedia/The Door Within Wiki, don't remember which). The main characters are human teenagers who are allowed to go to the Realm for a while to serve the King (this is Christian YA, btw). When a human goes to the Realm, their Glimpse twin goes to Earth, so they never meet. Now that the explanation is out of the way, the ships...
Aidan Thomas/Gwenne. Aidan is the main character of the first book, and Gwenne is his closest friend in the Realm. They're an adorable couple. But...
Antoinette/Kern. Antoinette is Gwenne's human twin, and Kern is the Glimpse twin of Robby, Aidan's friend. He's also an evil knight who nearly killed Antoinette in a duel. Oh, and he's third in command to Satan himself. Yet also...
Antioinette/Aelic. Aelic is Aidan's Glimpse. But I don't ship Antionette/Aidan; ask thou not how the heck this doth work. To further complicate matters...
Robby/Trenna. Trenna is a Glimpse, and we never see her human twin. These two are also adorable.
So basically, I'm stuck with a huge mess of Glimpses and humans and it's all very messed up. Help.

Well, let's see, there's really no pairings in Homestuck that I can't be convinced to ship. I've seen, oh, GamzeeFeferi, GamzeeRose, and I once read a very very good fic where the main ship was the Condesce c3
Also, IDK how weird this is, but DipperPacifica
I just can't see anything involving Gamzee not being some kind of black-rom (Gamzee Karkat being the single exception). Gamzee is just too toxic.
Nepeta
On my end, I feel like Terezi The Mayor is just too cute not to consider. Eridan Tavros would be annoying as anything, but that is everyone else's problem. Bec Noir
-Phobos, Thief of Mind
The Gamzeeshipping was in AUs where a lot of the stuff that made him toxic didn't happen. Non-sburb types, without a Lord English trying to get a certain outcome.
It might also be interesting to use hamsteak notation for PPC ships. By way of example, Algie acting as an auspicitrice between the Notary and Lola in a redrom relationship would work fairly well, I think. As would the WhatThe ship, Mortic
Also Gabrielle Absolutely Everyone. Just 'cause. =]
I've never seen all those
Which are complicated and confusing.
Basically, troll (an alien race from another dimension that are like humans, but have horns, grey skin and blood all the colors of the rainbow) romantic relationships are divided into four quadrants, denoted by the four playing card suits.
c3
And finally, , the diamond, or “moirallegiance”. “Moirails” are simply two people whose personalities are in perfect balance. This quadrant is not “romantic” in the intimate sense like the first two, but functions more like a really powerful friendship.
For reference, the official in-comic explanation of this is from here to here.
I just found out via Youtube that Homestuck is finally updating again! There goes any hope of me being productive tonight.
It also solves the mystery of why certain Homestuck fans take anything involving buckets as sexual innuendo. Although it doesn't seem to me as if the buckets are the sexy part.

<3, the heart, is romantic love, or "matespritship". This is the sort of romance that we're most familiar with. Intimate companionship, dating, marriage, that sort of thing.

> Sorry
In this case the characters aren't weird, but the format is. Sedoretu marriage of the main 4 characters of Princess Tutu. Mytho and Ahiru as Morning moiety, Fakir and Rue as Evening moiety
Well, let's see, there's really no pairings in Homestuck that I can't be convinced to ship. I've seen, oh, Gamzee<>Feferi, Gamzee<3Feferi, Nepeta<3Rose, and I once read a very very good fic where the main ship was the Condesce c3< Snowman c3< Alpha Rose.
Also, IDK how weird this is, but Dipper<>Pacifica<3/<3

Nepeta <3 Rose (or Roxy) I could see. There's a love of cats there that could bring them together.
On my end, I feel like Terezi <3 Dave could be a thing. I would also accept Dave <3 Dirk (I'm twisted, I know). Karkat c3< Karkat c3< Karkat is classic. Calliope <> The Mayor is just too cute not to consider. Eridan <3< Eridan is as hilarious as it is probably accurate. Kankri <> Tavros would be annoying as anything, but that is everyone else's problem. Bec Noir <3< PM is also a favorite.

I've never seen all those
Just the ones I could think of off the top of my head:
--
Milton Fauster/Zayne (Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go): Because the Milton-Marlo body swap yielded too few ridiculous gay-ish moments. What if Zayne was only being nice to Marlo because he thought she was Milton?
Oscar Wilde/William Shakespeare (historical figures): Because angsty gay poets need to stick together (Shakespeare was bi. Fight me). I feel like their sensibilities were similar enough that they'd hit it off brilliantly if they ever met. . . which would be flat-out impossible. Without a time machine.
Gerard Way (lead singer of My Chemical Romance)/L (anime detective from Death Note): Because they would be great together. Also, a ship name generator said that their ship name would be "Lard." I toyed with writing a fic about this for a while -- I think I could actually get their worlds to intersect, either by using G's cartoon alter ego Party Poison, or a fever dream.
--
I've always been afraid to write fanfic because I thought I might break something.
Have you looked into taking unorthodox shipping as a career?
Bowyer/Tailor (an obscure Flash game called Swords And Potions 2): Look, I have a thing for redheads, alright? And they're cute together. They're really, really, really cute together. =]
Grave Robber/Arbalest (Darkest Dungeon): Clinging to each other as they cling to life within the Stygian pits of once-fair countryside, rendered fouler than conceivable by the greed and madness of our Ancestor. This one also has the benefit of being canon... ish. The Grave Robber tells everyone they look hot, regardless of gender, and the Arbalest has the most attractive design in the game. By my very specific standards, anyway. =]
Hellion/Plague Doctor (Darkest Dungeon again): This one is... less canon. However, I think there's something intensely erotic about a drunken, halberd-wielding barbarian submitting to a skinny, nerdy girl with a penchant for medical experiments. As the meme says:-
Plague Doctor: *holds up a couple handfuls of leeches* i s2g im licensed
Loki and Maddy form Runemarks sound like a weird ship, but actually it's pretty much the only ship in our tiny fandom. (Although it gets weirder the more you think about it)
(Oh, why am I surprised, everything has a fandom. . .)
I loved that book when I was young and didn't know what social media was. Actually, I still kind of love it. To this day I occasionally start to make a reference to it and stop, assuming no one's ever heard of it. And you have. Holy mother of a light-blue stapler.
That is a really, really weird ship although I see why people ship it.
One of the (few) benefits of being on Tumblr is that everything has a fandom somewhere. Even if it's tiny and almost all the multichapter fics are badfic on fanfiction.net.
My agents are so excited; they'd have so much fun in that universe. . .
I mean, my imaginary agents. I don't have Permission. Probably won't ever get Permission. But you know how it is, right?
I'm waiting for the potential Suefic amongst them to update so that (when I eventually finish my samples and apply for Permission) I can spork it.
Occoo/Link (LoZ: Twilight Princess). I don't really understand why everyone I see play the game hates Occoo. And everyone ships Link with Midna.
Darth Maul x Disney. He's ducking back. Again. Someone need to introduce the guys phantasming about him in the scenarists team with the business end of a shotgun.
Is not that Maul is back again, but the fact that lightsabers let you fly. I mean seriously? Was I watching a bunch of Jedi/Sith fighting or a bunch of Yoshimitsus fighting.
And I dunno whether that even counts as a weird ship, but I kinda ship Justice of Toren/Lieutenant Awn. Kinda.
Lieutenant Awn and Justice of Toren is a great ship (hee.)
I'd say the weirdest one is Anghel/Okosan from Hatoful Boyfriend. Mostly weird because birds, and because they're the two weirdest birds in the whole game.
A question remains unanswered: Why isn't anyone else shipping it? It's almost canon in the epilogue!
Arthur (from "The Girl in the Fireplace") and Susan ("A Town Called Mercy").
If you know who they are you'll know why it's funny. :P
And who else would be the crazy shipper if not Haruhi Suzumiya?
... Though I want to argue that HomuraXMadoka isn't a crack ship. At least Homura->Madoka is canon, after all, and I'm pretty sure they have a pretty good chance of becoming a couple if they just stop a minute to talk.
Something Gen Urobuchi and Akiyuki Shinbo aren't that keen on having, I'm afraid.
Beause it totally is. Like Kyoko x Sayaka. Or Fate x Nanoha. Or Subaru x Teana.
Anyways, there is still hope for Madoka and her angel. There is still this new movie...
P.S.: If you search on the web, you can see versions of the song with other ships. Unfortunately, I don't have any of them in bookmark.
NanoFate is canon, considering that they live together and have adopted a daughter.
Subaru\Teana feels more like a "friends with benefits" things — I mean, Subaru wakes Tea by groping her once, and IIRC Tea lets her crash in her apartment; but the former might be teasing and the latter might be a friends things.
God being the series creator and the 2 Saint Pauls being their VAs
...Not even 2 days into it and I'm already a big fan.
A good chunk of the staff seems to prefer Yuunoha, and let's not get into the fandom. I head the NanoFate vs Yuunoha fight had been nasty, and I'm pretty sure the war isn't fully over.
Me? I consider NanoFate canon, as it is apparently supposed to be. Series creator beats secondary staff on canonicity in my book.
And I like the couple more.
As seen in my very first mission, I entertained Neo (The Matrix)/Chell (Portal) for a time. I always thought the two of them were quite similar, being protagonists in a dystopian world who rose up against artificial antagonists and all that. Even though there's no way a merger between their respective worlds would make sense at all.
I also once shipped Dash Parr (The Incredibles)/Vanellope von Schweetz (Wreck-It Ralph). Which kinda proves that I love Disney/Pixar a little too much. XD
