Scapegrace did finish in second place last year-- I'm interested in seeing how my team fares against her. So of course I want to see her win :P
That being said, I'm looking forward(ish) to the next match, regardless of who will be my opponent. I have a bad feeling about it and I want to get rid of that sinking feeling.
Once again, it's that time of year! Grab your Poké Balls and get ready to face off against your friends in the Official PPC Pokémon Tournament of 2016!
The bracket has been randomly generated and can be found on page 8 of the document; lists of the battles are below it. Remember, after each battle, please post a link to the Showdown recording for 1) posterity and b) those who might not have been able to watch the match in real time.
It will be up to individual battlers to decide on an appropriate time for each match.Voyd, I will get to you about our match later. :)

...I can say with confidence that Calm Mind Clefable is ridiculous if played well. Especially with Soft-Boiled. It was probably my mistake to use Whirlwind, because had I taken my chances with Klefki, I don't think I'd have taken that double Flamethrower and gotten KO'd almost as soon as the match began. Sheesh.
I've gotta hand it to Pit, though... Thunder Wave and Roost are an amazing combo, and I'm surprised he took out four of the enemy 'mons before going down - and especially that he flattened Gardevoir with a single hit before she could even Mega-evolve! I'm starting to think that had Toxic not been brought into play, it's possible, though not quite likely, that he could've taken out the rest of the team by himself...
So now I come back and my next foe is Scapegrace.

We are still waiting on Mattman The Comet and SkarmorySilver to fight, as well as Data Junkie and Storme Hawk. Mattman has until the 12th to respond to Skarmory's challenge; Data Junkie has until the 15th or they will both be disqualified.
Speaking of Disqualified, Lunar Dusk technically wins the Pewter Trophy by virtue of not responding to the challenge issued by Fasoula. Since we have not heard from them, I think it's safe to assume they won't be showing up anytime soon and I've gone ahead and treated their absence as a double elimination because it would be a waste of everyone's time to drag it out unnecessarily. Due to the elimination, Huinesoron will be fighting foofooman3 next.
As for actual eliminations, after a rousing battle, I've become the first person to be knocked out of the tournament, courtesy of TheShyIon's haxxor Dragonite. :P I'm honestly not sure at this point who to declare is the winner(?) of the Pewter Trophy because of the disqualification.
SeaTurtle's Ground team is looking rather threatening, having taken down last year's Champion, foofooman3, with surprising ease! Will Hardric be able to knock him into the Loser's Bracket?

Since it was asked, a "sweep" is when a single Pokemon is responsible for consecutively KOing a long chain of opposing Pokemon, often with one move and usually ending the match!

I could have won that one, though, had I not been a complete and total idiot. My Mega Pinsir had Quick Attack, and I think it would have done enough for Dragon's Bullet Punch to kill. Iunno tho.
Hoopa-Unbound is being suspcted for banishment, with verdict due for 11th April. and last time I checked the debate, it seemed he would be banished. If it happens, would monotype be affected (and Voyd)?
If it does end up being banned, I'll just add it to the banned list for next year's touney.

It works fairly similar to my own. And in fact, now that eatpraylove and DCCCV are in the losers bracket it's the team I'm most scared of facing.
I think one of the things with MonoGround is that it's easy to use, but it can be quite hard to master, and you've certainly got the know-how to go all the way with yours.
I'm flattered. Honestly, I'm terrified of facing anyone right now. I guess it's time I tried to use Swampert. I haven't the foggiest how I'm going to face any of you, as my wins consist of me getting lucky, and backing someone into a corner. Iximaz, am I allowed to tweak movesets?

You should have aimed for a Special Attack move sooner.
Is remembered that Flying isn't actually super-effective against Ground-types. That is not how you use an Ambipom, your man there was in the field far, far too long. Trust me, I know of what I speak. =]
I didn't think it through at all. I should have sent my Porygon-Z out sooner to one shot your hippodawn, but the diggersby would have been a problem since I don't know if my slacking could have survived a hit from it, and my diggersby has the same speed. I'm definitely swapping my snorlax in for my ambipom from now on though. My team needs to be a bit tankier.
That thing would've torn my team a new one, yeah. But it was all over once I had Stealth Rock on the field: if Porygon-Z impales itself on the rocks and is faced with Diggersby, it is outsped and OHKO'd by Return.
The problem is maneuvering so that I can safely switch in Diggersby without allowing you a free shot at it or allowing you to cast Nasty Plot.
I your diggersby was always going to be the problem since I had nothing that could consistently outspeed it, and my team isn't very tanky. Also my team has one special attacker so your hippodawn demolished me because I was too stupid to send it in earlier. The thing with my porygon is it's super powerful, but fragile. I normally send it in with a substitute and x3 speed from my ninjask, but that was ruined by the monotype. That way it outspeeds everything and has a free nasty plot while my opponent kills the substitute.
Is there a period after which the person who is not responding gets disqualified? And if so how long is it?
I think a period of a week is sufficient. Things might come up IRL but the tournament has to keep moving along.

Just on Baton Passing in our tournament can only one stat be passed or any? It just alters one move a mon. I will use the no issue version if I do not get an answer before my first match, and I will naturally lock in that moveset.
Then because we're doing Monotype I believe the Baton Pass clause will be in effect, so yeah only one stat will be allowed.
Issue is now resolved. Just went with the no issue version

However, Mega Gardevoir has the ability Pixilate, which increases the base power of Normal-type moves by a third and changes them to Fairy-type. Since Mega Gardevpir is a Fairy-type Pokémon, this helps it out quite a lot. =]

I'm happy tat the Dark user is gone in te loser bracket, but on the oter hand, Zelda is pretty scaring (provided I survive my next match).
