Er, I wish to request permission to write stories in the PPC continuum. Uh... this is my info, according to the wiki...
1.) My agent is named Basil. He looks like this: http://www.tektek.org/avatar/52279353 He is ten years old (formerly twenty, due to a mishap involving an age-regression device.) He tries to keep a hold on his childlike emotions and tendencies, but tends to fail. I intend for him to be in the Department of Floaters.
2.) http://kit-the-wolfy.deviantart.com/gallery/41378683 is the link to the badfic I want to tackle. In fact, I (and a friend) actually wrote it, so I kinda want to get it out of my sight for all eternity.
3.) http://kit-the-wolfy.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5nnqn4 That's one of my more recent, and MUCH better-quality stories. Be warned: It's a horror-themed story.
So what do you think? Am I material or not?
Permission denied. But don't sweat it. You're not the first to jump the gun, and you won't be the last. {= )
A few pieces of advice:
1) Waiting until you are confident enough to type without stammering and going "er" and "uh" every other sentence is a good idea. Exhibiting a lack of confidence in one's self does not inspire confidence from others. (Also, why go to all the trouble to deliberately type out a stammer? I don't get it.)
2) The Department of Floaters is becoming rather overused. Like, a lot. I'm not saying don't put your agent(s) there, but I AM encouraging you to shop around a bit and see if there isn't something with a narrower scope that still fits your sporking interests. If you're thinking about Floaters because you don't know what your interests are yet, waiting until you've gotten a handle on it is a good idea.
2.5) Read lots of different spin-offs to see what's been done before, what works, what doesn't, what you like, and what you don't.
3) There's nothing wrong with only writing one agent. A few exceptions aside, though, it IS expected that all agents should have a partner, so you might want to find someone to write with you if you don't want to come up with a second agent yourself. Co-writing is fun. {= )

So... the Dept. of Floaters is overused. Sorry, then. I guess I could try for the Dept. of Mary-Sues? Or is that overused, too? It probably is, right?
What do you want to do? If you have a wide variety of fandom interests and want to spork all different types of badfic, then Floaters is a good choice for you, despite it being heavily populated. If you're only interested in Sue-slaying and don't particularly want to deal with crossovers, bad slash, or whatever else, then the DMS is a better choice. But, there are lots of departments, as you can see. Some of them have divisions, too, which are handy if you want to specialize in a certain fandom or a sub-type of fic. It's best to PPC in areas you know well and enjoy when written skillfully. The idea is really to find humor in the badness, after all, not to just get angry at things you don't like. {= )
Anyway, you don't have to make up your mind right now. Part of the point of waiting a while to ask Permission is so that you have plenty of time to figure things out.

There's nothing that says you have to stick to whatever you choose forever. Agents change departments all the time. Plus, once you get the hang of things, you can always write for agents in more than one department. I currently have characters in the DIC, DMS, and FicPsych, myself.

Honestly, I think that the Floaters are a good choice for me.
(I kinda stalked the PPC wiki LONG before I joined the Board. Hehehe. *sweatdrop*)
That's cool. I've just seen a lot of folks join Floaters only to mostly tackle Mary Sues, or mostly stick to one or two fandoms, which is kinda silly.

Firstly, you've only just joined. As Specs said, you've got to be around for a bit before we give you free rein to write PPC things. It's nothing personal - we're just making sure you're on the level. Post on the Board, hang out in the IRC, make some friends. You'll be ready before you know it.
Secondly, your Agent intro needs work. It's painfully short, and doesn't really tell us anything except that your Agent had a mishap with some sort of wibbley wobbley, timey-wimey thing. I would suggest reading some older Permission requests, to give you a general idea of what we're looking for.
Finally, I would strongly suggest making another agent. Agents normally work in pairs, primarily because it's damned difficult to keep Missions interesting if there's nothing but one Agent bemoaning the horribleness of the fic, followed by a Sue dying painfully. If you can do it with just one Agent, and keep it funny and interesting, feel free to disregard this lat paragraph. If you're not sure that you can, I really do suggest you write up another.

Whoa. You're getting the TG treatment, too? Ouch. (I've been seeing a surprising amount of genderbending, or TG, as we TF fans call it.)
Mostly revolving around how I was killed two days ago in the IRC, then regenerated, Dr. Who style. Except Lielac shot me with a transmogrifier. So now my IRC handle is Justine, until someone changes me back.
Also, what's TF?
TF is shorthand for "Transformation". A lot of furries (like me) like it. Basically, TF is just what it sounds like- something becoming something else. I write a lot of stories about it.
I'm not involved in the furry community, so thank you for clarifying that. Most of the transformation stuff I've seen was related to Tzeentch. But that's probably because I spend far too much tIme on /tg/.

It must be at least a tradition* by now, anyway. Join the 'Board, write a post, be told by older members that new posts push old ones off the edge and into oblivion, try to delete the post to no avail, facepalm. Don't worry about it - we've all done it at some point or other.
(We have The Nameless Admin, but they only get involved if things get pretty bad - trollbots, or massive amounts of Do Not Want.)

Also, don't worry about asking for Permission this soon. I actually did exactly the same thing when I joined. Nobody holds it against you - if anything, they'll see it as evidence of your enthusiasm.
I would like to direct you to the Permission page of the PPC wiki.
The problem is, on the wiki, it is advised that you wait a few weeks to let people get to know you before you try for Permission.
If I'm correct, it's only been a few days. You joined the day before New Years Eve.
The other problem is, tge wiki also makes note that mission-writing isn't our whole deal. Like I said when you first joined, hanging out on the board makes you just as valued a member as mission writing. If you've only joined to write missions, it makes me think that you need more time to settle in and really honestly learn about the PPC. Hey, I'm still a rookie too. I can help you if you need it.
I'm no Permission-giver. But, they'll likely have a similar thought.
Relax; make some friends. Plug some writing work! Read missions, volunteer for group writes, make an MST! Save Permission for when you're truly comfortable and ready to go for it. We can wait, honest!

So long as the badfic gets it eventually, you don't need to worry yourself sick over it.
Actually, you could even group-kill it!
What you do is post a topic calling for volunteers for the write, then gather emails. The rest tends to work itself out from there.
The benefit to this is that you don't need permission to do it. If you need more info, toss the question to somebody who's done a group write before, they're treasure troves of info.
I did a group Mission a while back with Kitty, Lielac, and Crimson, as a sort of intro to Mission-writing, before any of them had Permission. If you want to do one with me, I'd be happy to oblige. If anyone else wants to tag along, feel free - as long as Basil's good with it.

The really frakking big, eight-Agent Bionicle mission was the one I was referring to. I don't remember whether or not Kitty had Permission when we tackled Rainbow Factory.
I dunno, I like writing with other people. It's so much more fun.
In fact, I tried for Permission two months earlier than I'd initially planned specifically because I desperately wanted to maim and destroy 'Replacement Dash puts me off hamburgers with ketchup for several weeks'.
And writing with people is marvelous - and also the only reason I stayed sane while destroying 'Replacement Dash makes me break down in angry tears three times a paragraph'.
You did fine. The only thing I had to do was stop you from killing Replacement Dash horribly. Er. MORE horribly.
I remember, because she told me that she was going to nail Rainbow Factory first.
I like working with other people, despite my somewhat seclusive nature at times. I'm just incapable of doing so with my phones and DS, because they either have sucky word editors or none at all, and live chat-like functions are a big NOPE.

I probably shouldn't - I've only just started getting into the 40k continuum, and I seriously doubt the DS could handle GDocs, let alone use its live chat-like word editor system. I might only end up blowing my hands up when this thing bursts into flame if I risk it.

Ah, but I don't have an iPhone. The phone I was originally using was a Samsung Illusion, and it died on me. The other phone, until my next upgrade in November, is an older Samsung model that needed reactivation, and that's in my room at my grandpa's house, which is four miles north of Modesto, where my family's house is.
So, I'm really kind of stuck until November.
Thankfully, for all the smack I throw at the DS, it at least lets me keep in touch.
