Just a reminder to everyone that the deadline to sign up and finalize your teams is in one week!
If anyone wants to see the current list of teams and/or rules, they can be found here.
Hope to see you in the tournament!
The bracket will be posted tomorrow, and from there it will be up to participants to schedule their battles with their opponents!
We will be using Pokémon Showdown to battle each other; after each match, please post a replay link in the tournament thread (which I will be starting tomorrow).
Best of luck, everyone!
Dragon-type, because... it's me. :P
Dragonite, Zygarde, Druddgion, Salamence, Hydreigon, Latios.
Zapdos instead of Yanmega; Yanmega is relegated to sub duty.
I think I've got my team settled down. I'll finalize by moving Delphox down to the reserve, so Ninetailstales can get some screen-time.

(Though the idea of taking in a team of Fire-type starters is still very appealing...)
... hS will probably be claiming the Pewter Trophy for first out of the tournament. :D

And while Fire may be a good type, what I have is a team consisting largely of Special ATK/DEF, with very little to cope with Physical threats. I've tried to mitigate that, but it's going to cause problems.
Also, I'm pretty sure most everybody has played at least one game before, putting them well ahead of me. ;)

Bug-type is a bit rubbish defensively on account of being weak to all the things, for example, so it's up to me to mitigate it as much as I can. If you want a Fire-type physical attacker, Emboar, Infernape, and Darmanitan are good choices, and if you want to practice when you're not busy, I'd be more than happy to help out. =]
As for the reference, well... it referred to your team of Fire-type starter Pokémon (link to YouTube video)
...but I'll hopefully have something today.
I'm really pumped for the tournament; been practicing and theorymonning hard of late. =]
I hate that thing with a vengeance, not just in Monotype, but in Online Battling overall.
I don't have a great deal of answers to Klefki, and depending on what it runs, a few of them are off the table. One, thankfully, is not, though I'm always a bit worried about its long-term viability.
Would it be possible to play the matches on Pokémon Showdown? There are several reasons that make me think it's a good idea.
1) I'm a lazy bastard.
2) It would allow others to see the matches live, which is cool, I guess.
3) I'm still lazy.
So... Pretty please?
And it's what we're doing again.
(btw, do you mind not swearing? The Board's supposed to be SFW.)
Got a MonoGround team that's done well on Showdown's ladder, AND I've been making adjustments to it recently so I've got a good substitute. Just tell me where to put it.
If you want to make any adjustments after you post, just post again and I'll revise it once I see it.
Hello fellow Ground-type trainer. I see that you too have an Excadrill and a Hippowdown. Welp. This is gonna be interesting.
Haven't faced a Torterra in absolutely ages, it'll be interesting to see how well it works on your team.
Best of luck!
Would it be possible to organize a looser bracket? It would be a shame of only doing one match if you're unlucky.
Something like this?
Would that pose a problem to anybody?
But other than that, it shouldn't be a problem. :)
Hope that will go as smoothly as possible.
