You like relationships that emphasize people protecting and caring for each other. That being said, you believe that relationships in real life aren't easy and that fiction should reflect that fact. That doesn't necessarily mean there won't be a happy ending; it'll just take some work to get there.
An acquaintance of mine recently directed me to this page about shipping in Steven Universe. Being an aficionado of both shipping in general and the show itself, I got a few kicks out of it. But it also got me thinking about what sort of semi-serious, semi-jokey analyses might be applied to possible pairings within the PPC itself (and I mean in-universe ships; put the Shipfest out of your collective minds). After a bit of brainstorming, I came up with a few possibilities.
A few notes beforehand. This will contain references to M/M and F/F relationships in addition to M/F. If you’re not into that, you might be better off giving this thread a miss. Also, this is meant to be for fun. I’m not trying to attack anyone, nor attack anyone’s favorite ships. It’s also by no means a listing of every possible PPC pairing. If there’s one you can think of that I missed (or one with a definition that was off the mark), feel free to suggest your own!
Now then: On to the analyses!
For my characters, anyway. Always nice to see readers taking an interest. ^_^
One ship I find conspicuously missing, though:
Trojie and Pads
You like relationships where one party plays hard to get, but the persistence of the other eventually pays off. You may also like genderbending.

Except for friendships. I love friendship stories.
Maybe what that says about me is that I'm asexual IRL and don't really see sex and romance as particularly interesting--why bother with the biological stuff when a meeting of minds and hearts is just as intimate? Besides which, if you're asexual/panromantic/poly, you don't even have limits on exclusivity of relationships. You're free to love everybody and anybody, and unlike sexual folks, you can eat cake at the same time. :)
So, my favorite ships would probably be those which are basically friendships. Jay/Acacia being romantic doesn't really strike me as particularly likely, though; those two simply don't seem to be attracted to each other.

I recall something from the Badfic Games. Apparently, somebody jokingly shipped Rina with Valon. I kinda raised my eyebrow at that one.
Alas, I couldn't think of meanings for these, but my brain rolled up Chakkik/Rayner, Rina/Marvin, Cupid/Stephanie, Valon/Dawn, Alex Dives/Notary and Reader/Aviator.

Shipping these two means you're fond of relationships you don't expect. You feel that love can blossom between people you didn't think would go so well together, and that love can also stem from surprising circumstances. So you may find yourself saying, "Why would I ship these? It sounds so... strange." But then after a while, they eventually become your OTP, full stop.
Mind you, we're planning on a mission which doubles as Cupid and Steph's first date, and needless to say it doesn't quite go to plan.
As for the others, I kinda see Chakkik/Rayner as a platonic ship with a teensy bit of homo tension. They do sound like what TV Tropes refers to as Those Two Guys (who serve as a Greek Chorus and snark about everything), and I get the feeling that shipping them is a sign of fondness for pairings based on this trope.
Rina/Marvin: They were implied to share a few offscreen flying lessons together, and the word 'date' was even used once, so clearly something was going on between them! You're the kind of shipper to latch onto tiny details that support your ship, even if it's overwhelmed by evidence to the contrary.
Reader/Aviator: You like romances steeped in time travel and angst. You also probably shipped the Doctor and River, didn't you?
You could probably guess that my ships from the list are Byrdtree and Dafydd/Constance (Dafstance? Sillian? I quite like Sillian). And... yeah, taken together they describe me pretty well.

You like your romances dark and angsty; you may be a teenager. Love is best when one partner is agonising over it, and even better when the second is deliberately ignoring them. They might get together in the end, but maybe it would be even better if they don't.

Long-term relationships are overrated. You want to see two high-energy characters meet, get together, and go their separate ways in as little time as possible. You think relationships should be founded on actual feelings, but don't think those feelings need to be particularly deep.

You like to believe that love conquers all, and will keep on believing that even when all seems to have indisputably conquered love. If it would take a miracle for two people to get together, so be it. If that miracle fails, you'll just keep waiting for a bigger one.

You are a firm believer that opposites attract. You like to see couples start off irritated by each other, but grow to need exactly the thing they were annoyed by. Alternately, you may just really like one or more of: hobbits, vampires, lesbians.

For some reason, you think that two opposite-sexed gay agents should get together. There's certainly something here you don't believe in - it could be homosexuality, sexual orientation in general, or simply the idea that any versions of hS and Kaitlyn can keep their hands off each other.
I'd be quite interested to see what people actually ship in my writings, but I suspect the answer to be the same as for everyone else: 'not much, because there's lots of PPC and not a lot of it's yours'.

You enjoy relationships where you only really get the point of view of one of the participants. Part of the appeal is trying to see what makes the other person tick. You want to see deep conversations delving into emotions, but tempered with some friendly sarcasm at the same time.
Eledhwen Elerossiel x Christianne Shieh
Your ideal ship plays with the idea of "opposites attract" a bit, but not to the point where the concept overwhelms the narrative. It's all about that low-key intimacy, to the point where those involved have become so close that their various quirks mix together. If there's a hint of sadness involved, even better.

I don't know what the tree in parentheses means, unless you were asking for Notary/Lola/Hippie Sequoia or something.

You're more interested in seeing different personalities come together than chasing canonical evidence. The relationship likely won't last, but it will be one that burns brightly and violently. Think sodium dropped in water. Sharp exchanges and the butting of heads are just other ways to reach passion.
"Tree" is the nickname given to the Fourth Notary (also known as the Fun Notary) by Lola during her time as her companion. It's a diminuitive of the Notary's full Time Lord name, Antrilovorasilendar.
Plus, it's a better nickname than Notes, to which I have taken a quite irrational hatred. =]

Tree was a nickname Lola gave to the Notary while they knew each other during a forgotten and very far past where the Notary was someone decent (even she think this), in a giga-crossover mixing Time War, XCOM Long War, and several other 'verses (Lola said they had McGonagall training them, for instance).
Scape has still to write all of the details, but Notary sees Lola as a Lost Lenore, and Lola think that Time Lords aren't to be trusted.
I never saw this story when it was published, nor was it linked on Lola's wiki page. My mistake.
Some of the interludes with Second Rina mention indirectly Lola, but the link between MacCandless and Notary's Lola became 'official' during the PPC HQ and RPs played during this period, with several bits of information released by Scapegrace.
Or, rather, ohyesgood. Reading this made me grin like an idiot, so :D — it's a good way to start the day!
For the record, I spent half of TOC waiting for Jay and Acacia to confess their love for each other (I SWEAR there's canon basis! I'll go through and find it, when I have time. . .). I also kind of ship them both with Luxury, so I guess the description for Luxury X Anyone also applies.
Yeah, I ship all three of them. They'd be so cute together! Right? Please let me not be the only one here.
I've got a whole story dedicated to it. (Per the disclaimer, that story is 'canon-friendly' but not necessarily canon.)
