Are there any shows or movies or books that you like? Maybe you could try to start a discussion.
Have you read any good or bad fanfiction?

I joined a few weeks ago, after lurking for a long time. Thing is, all I do here is still lurk.
To make a long story short, I feel the need to contribute in some way, or at least become better at not-lurking.
Any thoughts/advice/gibberish?
I tend to generally have nothing to say so I just keep to myself. I rarely post on the board due to this. I check a few times a week to see if there's an interesting discussion going on that I could get involved with and rarely see one that I can contribute to. You are not alone...

Read at least the first post in every thread. Then, unless you really can't see a way to do so, respond to every thread!
Alternately: there's no problem with lurking until you see something you're interested in getting into. We're all quite happy to dance for your amusement. ^_^

What, you wanted gibberish, no?
*chuckles*
Anyway, I think the other people summed it up. Be around, talk to people and don't forget to have fun. The PPC is a community first and foremost, after all!
Also, here. Have a random bucket of sloths!
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooths :P
I present Slakoth by way of argument:
Na, I just find them cute.
Did someone mention sloths? :D
You're a decent Pokemon player? Join the Tournament.
You want to laugh? Play with the dungeon Huinesoron posted, and post the most amusing moments, how far you did go, this sort of things.
Finally, if there is something you would want to discuss with Boarders, just post your thread. Nobody bites here, and if ridiculous killed, I would never have passed childhood.
Like the Shipfest! (Okay, maybe you don't want to do that.)
*I take on an officious tone*
I have some more plausible advice, though.
Things I would do: Turn everything anyone says into a bad pun or a reference to something you like. When someone says something you agree with or like, second it. When someone posts something they've made, say what you liked about it or what could be improved. Welcome newbies with nonexistent gifts.
Things I would not do: Feel guilty about lurking. Think of contributing to these conversations as "being useful" (is anything actually getting done here?). Take anything I am saying right now seriously.
Hope this helped!
Talk to people! Post your thoughts in a thread! Gush about fandoms!
We won't bite, seriously.
I really don't know too much about the PPC (although I stalk the Wikia in my spare time), since I'm a newbie.
However, I now dub you Friend. *shakes hands* I'm Matilda (or Mat, or Mattie, I don't care), or Ivy, take your pick. Hello!
I have accidentally created some NM&NM's, if you would like them as a peace offering.
