Sing all the show tunes you like. :P
*gingerly poking in head* Er, hello there, PPC! The name is Ivy Matilda Blue - actually, it's not - and the address is Earth.
Let's clear some things up. I am tenured in the Department of Paranoia, and combined with the fact that my name isn't very common, I've been using the pen name 'Ivy' for about a year. I will also gladly answer to 'Matilda' (or any variation of that name).
I'm in the midst of reading the original series, and then got a bit too excited, so I decided to say hello. I've read a lot of the wikia here, because I am a huge nerd and proud of it.
I found the PPC while scouring the Internet for Mary Sue tests. I stumbled across Alexis Gilmore and the mission "Get That Thing Called Beauty Out of the Detective's Eyes."
It was marvellous.
I've read just about every Sue-slaying piece of literature from the Sherlock fandom, and I've been hooked on works of the PPC ever since.
My favourite agents are Eledhwen Elerossiel and Christianne Shieh, partly because they were the stars of the first mission I'd ever read, and also because they're hilarious. (Rina Dives and Randa Unsure-Of-Last-Name are also fabulous.)
My list of fandoms would probably come close to crashing the Internet. Keeping it brief, I'd like to note that I enjoy Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Legend by Marie Lu, as well as many others.
In addition to being a voracious reader, I am a musician, an athlete, a student, an actress, and occasionally a good person.
Well, here goes!
Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay!
You sound like a pretty busy person. Have a homemade time turner to help balance your schedule. Please note that foofooman3 is not liable for any sudden elbow loss as a result of using this device.
Please disregard mini me up above, she's trying her best. Feel free to keep the time turner though; you're welcome to blame my mini if you lose your elbows.
I look forward to seeing you around!
Oh, and since you enjoy Doctor Who I am contractually obligated to ask who your favorite Doctor is.
As for your gift, have a sonic hydrospanner. The classic tool of Doctor Who and Star Wars at the same time.
This magical shovel digs up... uh, floating words? I guess you could stick these in places and pretend you're Sherlock.
What other spinoffs have you read?
I promise not to squee if you mention one of mine.
Please accept this starter Pokémon:-
Iiiiiit's Porygon2!
And your starting item is:-
Breath of Osiris from Ascendant!
Now, Breath of Osiris is an interesting one, and can be very powerful. When the holder goes down to 50% Health, it randomly raises 2 of their stats by +2. Since it can only be used once, you're never quite certain what you're gonna get. It can really help on Porygon2, but you have to understand you're giving up a lot in terms of recovery and defence. Try an offensive set with a Modest Nature, EVs in Special Attack and Speed, the ability Download, and the moves Recover, Tri Attack, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam. If you can tank a hit, you can get a boost out of it, but no promises as to its utility. Finally, remember to have fun! =]
Welcome a'Board. ^_^ Try to be mad, it helps significantly. To assist you in your endeavor, have a bumper sticker:
And remember to have fun!
hS
Here's a pack of index cards and a Lucky Gold Watch from Terraria! Wearing the watch gives you a 4% boost to your critical hit rate.
That is, hello, newbie. I'm not actually a crow, despite what certain people say.
Here, have this cup of Lapsang Souchong tea. Just be gentle with it — it's not quite certain whether it smells like a campfire or not, yet.
Have this pot of black-hole coffee. Hope you'll enjoy the madhouse too.
Welcome! Make yourself comfortable and have a slice of Infinite Pizza!
Welcome.
I, too, live in earth. Quite the odd coincidence, I must say.
My gift to you is: a jumbuck to shove in your tucker bag and go a-waltzing with.
I give you cats! Cardigans! But not cardigans made out of cats! That would be gross. Anyhoo, hope you enjoy it here.
Have one of my own shed feathers and a complimentary kit of Spikes!
*I poke you.* Hey, a fellow actress! What's your favorite part you've played? Mine was probably M -- the Scotsman. (Are you superstitious?)
Anyway, a gift! I'd like to present you with the largest book I can find, the collected plays of Gilbert and Sullivan. Also, I'd suggest that you consider participating in the Shipfest thread -- you'll get to know everyone quite quickly! In the most awkward way possible.
Well, that's not how I meant that to sound. I meant that first question to be more like, what kinds of parts do you like playing? And I meant the next sentence to be more like, I like to play whoever's angstiest and/or evilest.
(I realized that saying I'd played Mackie could come across as bragging, and I didn't mean it to be -- it was a summer-camp production, nothing worth bragging about.)(Apparently reading over what you've written isn't a foolproof way to keep from sounding like an idiot. Who knew.)
So many gifts!! Wow!! Thank you to everyone!! (I woke up with a pile of kind messages for me, it was really lovely :D).
For Cat (is there something else you go by?), I enjoy the evil parts myself. *high fives* They're always more fun than the good guys. (That's awesome! Nope, not bragging, I think it's really cool. Also, thank you for the book. :)
I tend to go by Key/Keyboard derivatives more than Cat, since I'm actually a dog person. . . but I'm pretty new here, so I haven't been properly nicknamified yet. Whatever works.
Lily herself is unfortunately mainly hanging out on Tumblr these days, but I'm sure she'd be glad to know you like her agents and her missions :) Have you read her Consulting Sue Slayer works as well? It's also quite fun, though it's a somewhat different format from PPC missions--primarily because, as I recall, it's much closer to the formatting style of a sporking comm like Deleterius than anything else. I think you might enjoy it, though.
Also, wow, musician and actress! What do you play? What sort of acting do you do? What's your favorite type of music? (If someone else has already asked you any of these questions, feel free to mention that instead of repeating yourself or something).
And, finally, welcome to the Board! Have some Swiss Bleepolate, of course, and deerstalker cap Gummyblees (in memory of Sherlock season 3).
...speaking of Sherlock, there was a special recently, wasn't there. I should probably watch it sometime :)
Anyway. Welcome again! Nice to meet you and-also-every-newbie-I-haven't-welcomed-recently-sorry-guys-here-take-the rest of the Swiss Bleepolate and my apologies. It's a bit crazy this time of year; I'm honestly surprised I'm on the Board *this* much right now.
~DF
I have not read the Consulting Sue Slayer pieces yet, though I believe I have them open on another tab of Internet. They will absolutely be my next destination after finishing the original series.
I am a classical guitarist and proud of it! I also sing, which is where the musicals enter the picture (stage left). I'm currently in two different choral groups, which are both a lot of fun. How about you? Are you a part of any performing arts (or non-performing arts)?
*eagerly accepts deerstalker* Wow, thank you! I've always wanted a deerstalker hat. *pets hat* (There was, in fact, a special. I've been trying to find it on the Internet with little success, and it's not yet on Netflix.)
*hurries to wikia to because I am unsure of whether Swiss Bleepolate is like Bleeprin or not*
'Floats upside down, while bowing' greetings Ivy, a pleasure to meet you, welcome to the PPC. May I interest you in Reese's Pieces and a Auto Shotgun with unlimited ammo, for the Zombie/Sue/Zombie Sue cataclysm?
Hello, and welcome aBoard! As a newbie gift, take this plate of freshly-made SPaGhetti!
Let's see, you've answered my usual questions and—eep, my agents? *blush* Glad you enjoyed them so much!
Hope you like it here!
Yes, I LOVE your agents! Very much! (I feel like I'm meeting someone famous. Eep!)
Thank you for the spaghetti. I feel very special. I believe this is the appropriate time to start singing show tunes from "Annie," is it not? (That is, "I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here!")
I've really not been around for long, no need to make a fuss. eek, is this how newbies see me? *panics slightly*
Sing all the show tunes you like. :P
This is you being amused because I squeed at you, isn't it?
*sticks out tongue*
