I'm honestly so happy this exists. ^_^ The Babylon Bee (gosh, even the name is excellent!) launched just four days ago, and already has quite a few articles. I submitted one the other day, and I'm just about to submit another; hopefully The Bee will find them publishable.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that bit of info! The site was announced by my favorite online artist, Adam4d; you should check him out as well. Hilarious, thought-provoking, and moving, all on one site.

Forgive me if I don't celebrate the new business venture of a grossly transphobic Oatmeal ripoff. The Oatmeal, for reference, is much funnier and does not include whatever this piece of dreck is supposed to be (TW: SERIOUS GORE.). His particular splodges of art-therapy show up on my radar from time to time (largely due to blogs like the previously linked to A Good Cartoon), and I've yet to see one that didn't categorise me and mine as unworthy of basic rights and protections.
Celebrate if you want, cob, but don't expect me to join you. -

I won't speak in his place and defend the comics, as I can't know exactly how he thinks; I do understand why you don't like him, though. To be honest, I'm not much for Oatmeal.
So... have a non-denominational piece of Harry Potter artwork! This is something we can agree on, eh?

Sorry for snapping at you. Transphobia's (understandably) kind of a touchy subject for me, and it does bring down the red mist on occasion. I'm sorry if it upset you at all, and for my vehemence. I'm sure there are things you believe in with equal passion, and, well, it must be tricky to deal with that in a society that treats deeply-held faith as a harmless eccentricity at best and a cause for serious alarm at worst.

To be honest, I don't think there's anything to forgive; your response was completely natural, and directed at the comics, not me. Nonetheless, you are completely forgiven of any possible offense, no hard feelings, no grudges. I'm also sorry I've upset you, and I hope you'll forgive me.
And, that comment-- eccentricity versus alarm? You brought tears to my eyes. Despite the fact that we disagree in quite a number of ways, you acknowledge the difficulties that I face, as well. I hope I can act the same way-- I hope I do act the same way. It can't be easy for you, either; I can't really imagine what I would do in your shoes.
To be honest, Scape, you and I should get together and talk philosophy or something equally scholarly-sounding. I think it'd be very interesting.

And we should definitely talk more. I do enjoy talking to you, and it's nice to have a debate on the Internet about this stuff without fear of rancor on either side. Exchange of ideas an' so forth.

You might miss a few jokes, yeah, but definitely not all. The concept interests me quite a bit, since it combines Christianity and sarcasm, two of my favorite things. I hope you enjoy the site; I'll definitely post if they decide to publish one of my articles! That would be extremely exciting.
