To Kill a Mockingbird was one of the two books we had to read in high school that I actually liked. This sucks.

To Kill a Mockingbird was one of my favorite required readings from high school. When Go Set a Watchman was realized, I immediately went out and bought a copy not caring that all the copies were hardcover and therefore a teensy bit expensive. So sad to hear that the author of both books passed.
I'm not particularly patriotic, but Lee was one of the few people I really considered a U.S. icon. Reality is going to feel like a weird place now that she's gone.
To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the only novels I've read more than once; it really is a beautiful piece of language.

Christopher Lee, Terry Pratchett, Harper Lee... So many famous ones are leaving us this year... :_;
According to a totally reliable source, celebrities die in threes. So at least we might get a respite now. . . *giggling hysterically over the lump in my throat*
Lee and PTerry died in 2015.
I remember reading To Kill a Mockingbird for the first time in high school. I never actually thought that Harper Lee was still alive, but that makes it even more shocking to hear that she's gone now.
I actually did like that book.
(Now if I can just get through Lord of the Flies *Mattmans ideals scream in terror*)
