If you're anything like me, you may have wondered what, exactly, the folk of the Protectorate of Plort, Konti-Nyuum use for money.
What, no? Come on, I bet at least some of you have.
That question has now been answered. (That's a link. Click it.)
You're welcome. ^_^

PS: Yes, this is why I asked for Lady Iximaz's signature a while back.
PPS: Yes, that note is hand-drawn, and yes, it was a pain in the neck to do.
In the hands of a suitably immoral wizard, this seems like a counterfeit scandal just waiting to happen.
...
It's a good thing for the economy of Plort that I don't have any idea how to RP.
That is an impressive amount of work and attention to detail. Very cool, all of it!
And... is that a Pernese mark I spy hiding at the bottom of the pile of coins? Can't help but notice our wooden Revu (Revus?) resemble them, too. {= )

I added a representation of the Fort Hold colours to the background, because just the number was really boring. ;) I don't think the dragon-harp worked out too well, but it was worth a try.
(And of course the wooden Revu(s) look like them - they're made in Barony Neshomeh! What did you expect?)

Okay, the Wiki page is awesome and the coins are awesome and the paper notes are awesome but is it bad I like the image of Keep De'endee the most because it looks just like I imagined it and aaaaaaaaaa—
*ahem* Ehe, sorry about that. Awesome work, all of it. :D And yes, as a matter of fact, I was wondering this very thing. :P
(I'm trying to read what's on the scroll in Lady Iximaz's heraldry and all I can make out is the third line.)
I actually knew De'endee would look pretty much like you imagined it - it's based off the picture you shared when I released the Minecraft map. ^_^
(The scroll says... hang on...
"Vert a chevron Or above a scroll argent a quill argent between. Lady Iximaz of Plort"
And over the other side, the book on the flag of the Union is apparently the Cyclopaedia itself: "Being a repository of all information relating to the Protectorate of..."
Easter eggs are fun!)

Dark Civilian Aakmal was, er, prodded into thinking about his paper money scheme by Ye Scape-Grace. Y'see, rather than flax or spices or whatever, I think the true currency Ye Scape-Grace (who is at this point basically Baroness Iximaz's vizier, troubleshooter, and occasional purveyor of stabby) values is information: troop movements, reports from the Marizu League, title deeds, land grants, laws, codes, books of magic, all that sort of thing. And since a currency can't be just word of mouth, it is paper, and encoded in pictures. Printers are clever sorts, and old presses are titanic, and the written word is king in Plort because writing makes it real. It seems... apt.
Seriously though, those are awesome. =]
