That is: I'm throwing one, in honor of the fact that yesterday, January 13th, marks three years since I made my introductory post on the Board. Come party with me! And do let me know how many of you have snow around; I'm curious about how widespread this part of winter is right now.
...for that matter: who are all of you? I've been around, but busy enough not to have greeted every newbie who's shown up over the past...er, half a year? More? Less? Come say hi, and have belated newbie gifts! *marshals stock of Swiss Bleepolate and assorted Gummyblees* As to everyone I know from farther back--how are you all? Come take some NM&NMs if you want them!
By way of gifts to everyone who's into Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, LotR, Tamora Pierce's work, Doctor Who, Ender's Game, Avengers/Agents of SHIELD, um, half a dozen other fandoms including Disney and Teen Wolf...this author is my latest recommendation. She's ink-splotch on Tumblr (the link I just gave), dirgewithoutmusic on AO3, and E. Jade Lomax for her original work. She's written the most amazing Harry Potter fics, something about Susan Pevensie and Eowyn that was just wonderful, some awesome Emelan and Tortall stories, and I don't even know what else, because I've only read a fraction of her work so far. Her original work (something about a school for heroes--not superheroes, fairy tale type heroes) is very highly praised, though I haven't read it yet, and is available as free ebooks or not free physical books.
Essentially--her work is amazing, and I highly recommend her. She does a lot of AUs and some canon-friendly things as well; her Harry Potter AUs are just incredible. Her what if Harry had been a squib AU was the first one I saw, followed by what if the Dursleys refused to take Harry in and he was raised at Hogwarts, which is chock-full of fluff and feels and everything good. Check her out! and join me and the RL friend who introduced me to her work in trying not to read more and more of her fics while needing sleep and to focus on schoolwork
Well. Anyhow. Here's to three years, and many more to come! *throws confetti* *looks around for Supernatural fans*

PS: Speaking of SPN--I have such a rant for the more recent developments of it, because THAT MAKES NO SENSE, but I am told the writers actually, seriously wrote it and and and...yeah, no. Nope. So much nope. And not in a good way.
Well, seeing that I live in the southern hemisphere and thus it being summer right now, it wouldn't be snowing down here even if it ever, which it doesn't, given that I live in a place with a very tropical climate and no high mountains around.
Thank you for the NM&Nms and the HP fic recommendations. I will be sure to check those out sometime! :D
And since you were so kind as to hand out gifts on your own party, have this: A Rorschach Book, which can change into virtually any written text in existence. Just close your eyes while holding it, think about what you wanna read and then blink three times!
BTW, if I may ask this, have you gotten a chance to find/work on that spoiler-free Ruby scene, by any chance?
No snow here.
I just read the Harry-had-been-a-squib-AU and I love it to pieces. I bookmarked the whole series for future reading. Thank you for recommending this.

We don't have snow, just rain and sometimes-cold sometimes not-weather. Oh, and we're expecting a sandstorm come Monday.
*Grabs NM&NMs*
I read one of dirgewithoutmusic's AUs — the one where Harry grows up in Hogwarts — and it's awesome. I'll probably read the rest at some point.
Again, mazaltov.
*opens a bottle of Cava*
...Just a few years earlier. XD
*throws cakefetti* *blows noisemakers* *brings in a stripper cake complete with its own Doctor*
(Also, wow, has it really been almost two years now? Feels like I'm still a newbie. :/)
As far as newbie status goes, that ship has quite comprehensively sailed. Sorry bout dat. =[
Was she around for the snowball fight we had a few of years back? No? Then she's still a newbie!
Come to think of it, Luthien was in that, and she's still a newbie in my head... :D

I feel like a midbie, but people tell me I'm an oldbie.
I've been here for more than five years, I'm cronologically speaking more of an oldbye than some Permission Givers, and yet I don't feel like an oldbye at all.
Guess I got to find that cane first if I want to yell "get off my lawn" to kids.
And a lawn, too.
Snow? I lice on the west coast, but the last time was two years ago, in February. I remember having snow every year, but not anymore. Freakin' global warmin'. Anyhow, *takes generic newbie gifts, begins to describe them*
The last time I saw snow was two years ago, and that was because I visited America. It's bloody summer over here, though, I don't think the clouds are aware of it. Half the time it's burning hot, the other half it's cold and rainy.
I'm not part of the Supernatural fandom, but I did read Good Omens once (or twice,) so I hope that counts for something.
Also, I read about a page and a half of one of the original works of that author you recommended and they were a brilliant page and a half, so cheers.
Happy celebration for you. Let's put some music here. I'm not sure about the snow. There's nothing at the moment, but the meteo predicts it for tonight.
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll check them when I can.
Oh, I'm only in the early seasons for the moment, but thanks to Das Mervin, you're looking at a fellow Supernatural fan. Metallicar forever!
P.S.: It's four monthes since I'm here and I got Permission and a first mission almost published, but could I take the Bleepolate, provided there's dark, pure cocoa, or dark with red berries? Really need it right now.
P-A-R-T... Y? BECAUSE WE BLOODY CAN!
*flails hands and throws glitter and confetti everywhere*
Question about snow: We used to, here in Poland, have snow since January 1st up until last Sunday when temperature jumped up and everything turned to mud. Now... ekhm... Hand over the Gummyblees and nobody gets hurt!
Also, I'm really interested in joining the Supernatural fandom... Can you describe it in eight words or less, to convince me? :D
P.S.: Could I have a moment of your precious time on mail?
