Since we've had a bunch of people join since the last thread, I thought I'd ask: where'd you get your handle from? Did you invent it yourself? Did you name it after something?
I'll start with mine: 'Desdendelle' comes from Des Dendle, which is a horrid Yu-Gi-Oh! card nobody in their right mind would use. I saw the name quite sometime around 2008 and decided I liked it; I've been using the handle in various places around the Internet since then.
It was meant to be a Warrior's-style name, but I decided to have it be with one t instead of two.
The basic premise is that there's a world that mirrors ours, called The Realm, and travel between the two is possible but rare. Each human has a Glimpse twin (a Glimpse is basically a human, but they all have ghost-white skin and their eyes flash different colors depending on their ultimate loyalty) that can be a different age but is physically identical and dies at the same time. It's a great trilogy, and the audiobooks are wonderful.
An Alleb is a Glimpse from the city of Alleble, and my full name is Alleb Knight, meaning (duh) that I'm a knight of Alleble. In The Door Within, it basically means you're a Christian (although this universe has some really interesting doctrinal differences that I've only recently begun to notice). But anyway, that's a super long backstory to my name. ^_^
-Alleb
My name came from my first DnD character, which came from me misspelling my actual name's original Latin variant.
I have a shoebox containing a marionette that my dad gave me when I was a kid. When I first joined the PPC, I looked around for something to pick for my screen name and saw said shoebox. The puppet's name was "Mr. Wizard", so I took "Mister" and "Shoebox". There we go.
My handle came from an in-universe handle used by an author avatar of mine.
Well "Cattomboy" is actually a shortened verison of a super long username I had on gaia back when I was 13. The name is meant to read "Cat tomboy" i.e. relating to cats and the tomboy stereotype, but more often it ends up being read as "Cat tom boy" and people just assume I'm a guy.
"Jebboy" is just the name of one of my old cats my parents had when I was a little girl.
By an old punk rock band from Denmark called Sort Sol.
I like the song (couldn't find it on YouTube) and it's a practical handle because I can use it anywhere and it's never taken.
Sergio's my first name, and I was already a car enthusiast so I went with Turbo.
Not that original, but I'm so used to it I don't feel like changing it.
Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet. I though the letter itself looked cool, and have used it in a few random places.

The knife birb is basically my all-time favorite Pokemon, ever. It's my Pokesona, one of my top picks for a Pokemon team, and in general, well, it's me. Silver came into the picture for the sake of alliteration and the fact that I joined the Internet pretty close to the release of HeartGold/SoulSilver.
I also use this handle on Tumblr and for my Gmail address, though when I joined Smogon, I went by the name of my current "birbsona", Falchion.
Squawk!
Mattman is a portmanteau of "Matthew" and "Man," I was 7 when I came up with it. Comet originates from my Superhero persona.
They wouldn't let you use anything that even resembled a 'normal' name, but that wasn't going to fly with me. I didn't want to be 'CamelotOrc3327', no thank you! How was a brave adventurer supposed to be taken seriously with a name like that?
So I played with letters until I came up with something I liked. I haven't played Runescape in years now, but Iximaz has since upgraded to a World of Warcraft hunter. :)
Let us shed a tear for the olden days of Runescape, when the sand upon the shore of Rimmington would melt your eyeballs and the KBD was the scariest thing ever..
Wish I had an old nickname to go by, but that's what happens when you're not socializing enough.
Matt comes from 'Matthias', which is the closest English equivalent of my actual name - Maciej.
Cipher actually has two reasons: One is that at that time i just got into "Gravity Falls", and the character Bill Cipher quickly became one of my favourites. Second is that I love puzzles, riddles, etc., so it kinda suits.
James is the English equivalent of my first name. Shields is because my last name sorta sounds like the word 'defend'. That's about it.
