Ah, another PJO lover, eh? I've been a fan of the original series since I was in my teens, and I've started reading The Lost Hero! Glad to meet a fellow fan! :)

The Spirit of the Master is a really useful item for Nidorino's evolution, Nidoking, since it grants a +33% damage boost to STAB moves. However, Nidorino itself doesn't have access to Sheer Force, so you have to work around it. Try a physical attacking set with 252 Attack, 252 Speed, and 4 HP, running Hustle with Hone Claws, Poison Jab, Drill Run, and Body Slam to spread Paralysis. You'll need to get a boost out, but it can work. =]
