Whenever we like something, it’s a good opportunity to exercise our writing, reviewing and beta reading skills by telling that and why we like it. Personally, I’m terribly bad at the "why" part, but I’m working on it. I’m also terribly bad at gift giving. So just – Welcome aboard.

Awkward newbie here. It is 1:39 in the morning, I'm one paragraph away from finishing an essay due at 9 am, and I finally have the sleep deprivation/lack of self consciousness necessary to post here.
So, hi! I'm emythos, I used to read PPC stuff all the time as a bitty middle schooler/early high schooler, got out of it and figured too much had happened for me to get back into it. Recently, it was mentioned on a different forum I'm on, I had a nostalgia attack and figured I'd reread some, assuming it had probably gone defunct or something. Then I got here and realized no, it hadn't. And that I might as well FINALLY TRY TO TALK TO PEOPLE, instead of being a shy dork who can't even talk to people over the internet.
So, yeah.
Ah, hello there, fellow newbie! *offers coffee cup* Sorry about the late welcome - I just got back to the Board after a short time away, and felt it would be rude not to greet you, so here I am!
I myself first got into the PPC around the same age you did (and, like you, also fell away from it for a time before finally deciding to come back and join the community properly), so I can very much relate to you on that one. They're a very pleasant bunch around here though, so I'm sure you'll feel right at home.
Just watch out for the potted Wilver ferns in the corner. Very sensitive fellows, they are.

Don't worry about being shy. I was really shy too before I came on here. People here are rather nice however so you should be good.
I definitely know what it feels like to be too nervous to make a post here. It took me a long time between discovering about the PPC and this very Board and actually introducing myself. You're definitely not alone in that regard. And I think you will find that is the just about the friendliest and the most welcoming community out there. People here are very warm and understanding. Just by simply making this post, You've already become a part of this community and it won't very long before you feel like it.
As for your welcoming gift, have a Bag of Holding, so that you are able to store the truckload of gifts you are getting.
I think I'm actually shyer talking to people on the internet than talking to people in real life.

Well, I am just about as much shy talking to people online as I am in real life, so I definitely get it.

Stony Wand's a pretty interesting item in Pokémon. Every time the holder gets hit with a contact move, they have a 10% chance to use Rock Slide. It's generally more useful on walls, but Starmie can run a pretty cool tricksy set. Try a Timid-natured set with Scald, Rapid Spin, Recover, and Reflect Type, with Natural Cure as your ability and your EVs in HP and Speed. 248 HP / 16 Special Defence / 244 Speed should work. =]

Yes I did read those, quite a few so I'm going to have to figure that out when I'm not a zombie, and hmm. The Dresden Files, Doctor Who, Gravity Falls, RWBY, and there's more, but again, I'm a zombie right now and should be sleeping.
If you're really that tired, go to sleep and answer later, I don't mind. (Though I think that your sleep deprivation will be even worst 5th December. ;))
For once. Sorry this is pretty late, I had early classes and decided to pay attention.
I'm always so happy to meet people who've even heard of The Dresden Files, let alone have read them! The only reason my irl friends know about them is because I keep throwing my copies at them, trying to convince them to read. The only person I've really gotten hooked so far is my boyfriend, who's just gotten through Death Masks.
So, spinoffs I've read! Right now I'm working through Rina + Randa, earlier on I read Suicide+Diocletian, Laburnum+Foxglove, hmm. I read a bunch, but that was a few years back and now I'm stuck trying to remember. Uh, Xericka? And then I remember reading a mission for Katekyo Hitman Reborn, but I'm not sure who's it was. Argh, now I feel stupid.
I'm watching the Jessica Jones show right now, and that's really good. Did you see that or Daredevil? I really like Tamora Pierce's books, especially The Immortals. I like Agatha Christie mysteries (especially Tommy and Tuppence), but those don't really get fanfic. Same goes for Dorothy L. Sayers. I just started reading One Punch Man, after much harrassing from friends. Harry Potter, like pretty much everyone. I'm probably going to just keep thinking of more and more. XD
I read all of the DF and most of the short stories, so I know how awesome this series is. By thhe way, did you the opportunity of reading his other Series, Codex Alera and Cinder Spires, I can assure you they're worth it too.
Didn't see this series though, sorry. I heard about Arrow and Flash, but not these ones.
I haven't read them yet, but they are most definitely on my list.
I've seen Flash and liked it, but I couldn't really get into Arrow. I tried, I really did.
