You can mitigate it somewhat by interrupting the page while it's loading, though. That keeps the ads from redirecting your browser.

As in, they're not a drag (Well, they are, but aren't all ads?) but rather, that's where they're worst. Unless you want constant pop-ups advertising mail-order russian brides, stay away from mobile.
