Yeah, that actually happened once. It was a trollfic, though, so it's most likely intentional to mess up Sparkle's name that badly.

I remember once I read a fic where 'Snape' was spelled as 'amoe' for some reason. I can see that happening, but only if someone is really, really drunk. I found out that it was supposed to be Snape only after reading the author's notes, which were spelled even worse in some places. They also insisted on spelling 'Harry' as Haray' while claiming that the latter was the British spelling, and that the former was only printed because of some nebulous conspiracy. Yes, really.
Though I do believe Vloxemort, Voldemint, Vadermort, and Cornelio F*** take the cake.
All of these of from MarissaTheWriter Fics.

...I can say with confidence that the most lulz-worthy misspelling I've ever seen comes from my second mission. 'Twas an Indiana Jones trollfic which had Short Round garbled into - I kid you not - s#!t ruond.
The result? A prime contestant for the smelliest mini in the world, of course!

but in my Holmes mission, one of the mini-Hounds of the Baskervilles was Mortiarty. I rather suspect him to be a most gloomy and glowering puppy. (And hey, folks! He's still single unadopted!)
The weird thing about Snape being misspelled as "amoe" is that this mission by Sara has "sniper rifle" misspelled as "snaperrifle." It's like the badfic authors are subconsciously associating Snape with guns or something. '~'
There was one Suethor who couldn't keep the name of the country she'd invented straight. It kept going back and forth between Ifria and Ifrania and it confused the hell out of me for a while.
