SO.
YOU GUYS.
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS, I CAN'T USE LOWERCASE LETTERS.
Okay, I can tone it down a bit. Maybe.
Anyway! The BBC has released the official synopsis of the twelfth episode, "Hell Bent".

"They were established to monitor their home continuum in the absence of Gallifrey, and ensure that it is prepared for the return of the Time Lords."
So... what does this mean for the future? -

"I don't like this."
The Guardsman squinted at his computer monitor, drumming his fingers on his workbench. "I don't like the sound of it at all. Says here the Doctor 'faces the Time Lords'. That implies that the Doctor stands against them. And... I did tell you stories of what happened to my people during the course of the War. We turned into monsters. Even if the Doctor tries to save everyone, I'm not sure if..." His voice trailed off. He looked away, then back at the computer screen. "Then there's the question of the Hybrid thing running about which I don't like. And then we don't know if Rassilon is still alive and kicking..."
"Are you not excited about this?" asked Terabyte, its combat platform standing behind the Guardsman, looking over his shoulder at the computer screen. "You have the chance to see your sister again..."
"Well, Emiran has got a point," said Naya, who was also standing behind the Gallifreyan man. "His people aren't safe yet. There's still the question of where Gallifrey is, what happened to all the Daleks on the planet during the Moment, what's the current political situation, and well... what Moffat will do to milk the drama. It's the season finale too-- there's bound to be a cliffhanger for Series 10."
"So yeah. Not feeling particularly optimistic about this. And then the stupid Continuity Council is gonna be all over this too..." The Guardsman sighed and rubbed his eyes. "It's going to be a long month."
"What will you do once Gallifrey comes back?" asked Terabyte.
"I don't know. I really don't know. I fought for over three millennia in the biggest SNAFU of a war to see Gallifrey at peace again and now I learn that my homeworld might still be in danger." His eyes wandered over to the corner of his RC where there stood a locker filled with the equipment and armour he had brought into HQ when he arrived via Time Vortex. "And if there's still a danger... well, I'm technically still in the armed forces. I have an obligation to the homeworld."
"You are not going back in there," said Naya forcefully, grabbing her partner's shoulder. "Especially not when Gallifrey's return is being hyped as a game-changer. We are going to patiently wait it out and make a calculated decision based on what the two episodes are going to tell us. Isn't that right, TB?"
"Acknowledged. Caution is advised," said the geth, also putting a hand on the Guardsman's shoulder. "We just have to wait and see."
The Guardsman sighed and looked blankly at the tool rack hanging on the wall in front of him. "Yeah. I suppose so." -

Praise be to Eru, Gallifrey's finally making her grand reentrance!
I am both utterly ecstatic/excited, and at the same time completely terrified.
(And it also looks like we'll finally be getting a proper explanation behind the 'hybrid' motif we've been seeing all season. Hopefully) -

"This is a joke. This has got to be a joke."
Algie looked up from the arts section of the Monitor. "What ails you, Commander? Thin Man trouble again?"
"No, Aircobra this time, wiped half my bloody squad, but it's more that... oh, just come here and have a look." Commander McCandless beckoned him over, and he complied.
Then he paused.
Then he squinted.
"Gallifrey... isn't that somewhere in Ireland?"
"No, it's somewhere in Doctor Who. The somewhere. The home planet of the Time Lords. And the only shot I have of finding her again."
"Ah," said Algie, and he even sounded kind. "Cherchez la femme, Lola?"
"Never stopped, cob. She'll be there, I know it, she has to be! And, and if I'm really lucky she'll even be her and not one of the other ones, and we can... we can just be together. I've been saving up a lot of holiday hours. Maybe we could go to that diamond island she was always banging on about, heh, never, never got round to it..."
Lola's head slowly tipped forwards and she collapsed on the console, and when she was able to look up again through tear-filled eyes, she saw that Algie had put her blanket over her. It was a strange thing; a slightly lurid yellow with considerably more lurid pink and green tie-dye giving it the appearance of a conference of seriously ill Mysterons, but it was a memory, and it was hers.
And if she wished upon a star and that star and its friends were coming right, it might be theirs again. -

RC loge's occupants, as a rule, weren't morning people. The morning of November 15th, HST, found the Librarian in his armchair — from which he did not move since last evening &dmash; idly browsing a library catalogue on his tablet, and Des in his swivel-chair, randomly surfing the Internet.
"Hey, Lump?" Des called from his chair. Khataltelet trilled excitedly.
"Yes?" the Librarian asked, putting Tablet down.
"Come here. This might interest you."
The Librarian got up and went to where Des was sitting on his swivel chair, putting a hand on the chair's back and glancing at the laptop's screen.
His hand tightened on the backrest. "It..." he managed to choke out, then swallowed. "It is back. They are bringing Gallifrey back."
Des looked up. "You're crying."
"... That I am." The Librarian made no move to wipe his eyes. "They are bringing her back." -

Gallifrey coming back would be something really wonderful, but judging by the synopsis and Moffat's declarations, I'll save the cheering for after the episode, when it will be really back and not destroyed, or whatever this show has got up its sleeve. Besides, Reader and Guardsman also have a good point: as long as Rassilon is not deader than dead the planet won't be a great touristic destination.
Sorry for intrudiding like this, I genuinely hope for the best, but I cannot help but fearing for the worst. -

Just the planet coming back is a huge step for the show. And hey! The Doctor having to deal with Rassilon could make for some sick episodes. You never know!
I'm honestly more worried about how Moffat & co. are going to handle it. But, well, whatever happens happens, and then we get to b**ch about it on teh intarweebz after the fact if we don't like it. :P -
