If you want more steampunk to go with this, I'll suggest the Aeronaut's Windlass, last-born of Jim Butcher's books. Post-apocalyptic world of towering spires and flying ships (Valon would faint after reading the first chapters), crystal magitech, and cats who decided to remind us that they are the dominant species on this planet.
What more could we ask for?
Hey, you know how generally speaking there's a problem with steampunk in that it celebrates colonialism and a hyperbolic look at Victoriana and plantation-owner-chic?
Let's fix that.
