It was a long shot, but I tried Elvea's old email, and lo and behold, it was still active! And an even greater stroke of luck: she still had a hard drive with a copy of the one mission of hers that's been missing!

Presenting for the first time in possibly a decade: Agents Joe and Meneltari rid Middle-earth of a very scene-stealing unicorn.

DMFF agents have also shown up in at least one issue of the Multiverse Monitor, namely the one dealing with the aftermath of the 2013 Blackout. I think it's the May edition. In the relevant article, they were ensuring that the various creatures and objects that had ended up in HQ went back to the right places in the right canons.

I, uh, kind of left that whole "Department/Division Page Update" project half-finished, didn't I? >.> I got a bit hung up on DOGA... there's so much relevant material to go through. o.o

By the way, people, feel free to help out, especially if you're hS someone with a vested interest in a particular department! The basic idea is simply to make sure department pages have the most complete and accurate information possible, including references to missions and other primary sources where appropriate, and to give them all a consistent layout, which you can see in effect on the pages I've done already. These are marked Complete in the section on this project in my wiki blog.

That's awesome! Kudos for having great luck and the sense and/or courage to try it!

I sent you that other stuff from the DMFF at some point, too, right? Lemme see... "Sue Phrases" and the "Tolkien Encyclopedia of Canonical Flora" and "Tolkien Encyclopedia of Canonical Fauna"? We could have pretty much the whole department, I think!

I think we do have all the DMFF stuff; I've also got the Goddess trio's original Suefics from the Pit backed up. (Though what the authors would think of those being saved for posterity . . . I don't know. <.>
The one thing I would love to have for the Wiki, that seems to have disappeared for good, was Elvea's fanart of Meneltari from the top of this page:

But in the long run, better to have all the text stuff saved. I can't whine too much over an illustration. *shrug*

—doctorlit has a hazy plan to eventually hand-draw art for all the characters missing page images someday, but it's lowest-low priority, if only to stave off the resulting damage to other Boarders' vision as long as possible

For those who now want to read the full exploits of the DMFF, the rest are archived here (and I've tucked the new link in to go with them). ... except for the last one, which for some reason I never did? I'll get right on that.

(And yes, it's well over a decade - I did my archival in 2008, and remember that they'd been gone for ages by then. Also I archived the rest of these nine years ago sweet mercy.)
