He was 77 and suffering from cancer. It's rubbish, but it's not on a level with last year:
Bowie. Rickman. Wogan.

(Bowie and Rickman were both 69.)
There will be other years when our hearts are broken every month. It's inevitable - our most beloved stars are all hitting their seventies, they're old. But 2016 was different, because 2016 was the first one we noticed.
