Interest Check: Pathfinder! by

So I've been talking with eatpraylove, and she thinks it'd be a great idea to try and get PPC Pathfinder.
If we can get this off the ground, who'd be interested in playing? -

Due to Voyd's inability to host the Pathfinder game due to...complications up above, the game is now on hold until the issue is completely resolved...

Voyd and I have spoken via IM, and he says that he can still run the PF game, it's just that people will have to contact him via email, Skype, or Google Hangouts instead of Discord or Roll20. He just needs a little time to figure out how to make it work in light of his current state.

Core, Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, Advanced Race Guide, Advanced Class Guide, Occult Adventures, and the Bestiary.
You guys might also want Golarion-specific information, because Rise of the Runelords is set in the nation of Varisia. -

Is there any way of watching as a third party? I have no idea how roll20 works, so I'm not sure if it's possible. If it is, awesome, I'll catch it if I can. If not, can somebody record it? Or, at very least, have a write-up after each session. I don't play any tabletop myself, but am oddly fascinated with the art of roleplay. I would love to follow along.

Player Selection by
on 2016-10-04 01:15:00 UTC
Reply
Alright, I think I've attracted enough interest. However... I can't run a game with all these people.
I need to narrow this down to 6 or 7 players.
An adventuring party of 8 or more is simply too many players, too many turns to take, too much discussion. Six is plenty, seven is pushing it.
The only volunteers who have presented characters are K'eth (taninim draconic exemplar, third party things) and eatpraylove (hunter, race TBD). A party still needs the whole fighter/rogue/two casters setup, so I'd need people willing to play one of the classes for those roles. -

Given that I'm already in another game, I hate to take a spot away from someone who doesn't have a chance to play at all. However, if you need a ranged fighter, I'd be happy to fill that spot. I'd also appreciate being able to spectate.
Character: Arannel - TN Elf fighter (archer), likely to multiclass into wizard and eventually go Arcane Archer. -

Firstly, I'm thinking about an elan psychic warrior, ascetic or dervish path, or an elven magus with dervish build, as my characters.
But, given the fact people cannot always be there for every game, why not go for the group being part of some mercenary organization? You could use that for allowing for more flexible group, depending on who is free at the moment the games begin. -

I'm sorry, but psionics are off-limits. I've tried reading them, but couldn't wrap my head around their mechanics. Go with occult classes instead, if you want psychic spells.

I am assuming pretty much anything goes, considering third-party dragons.
I was going to play a skinwalker alchemist/master chymist build. I was concerned that it might be a bit overwhelming because it's main draw is having six natural attacks by level 2. Can I ask for your estimate of the relative power level? -

For one thing, I already have both a melee combatant (K'eth's exemplar) and a skinwalker (EPL's hunter).

Like I said before, I'm not sure how much time I'll have. If you can't find anyone else who wants to play as a rogue, shoot me an e-mail, but I don't want to take the spot from someone who knows for certain they'll be able to commit.

But I'm a little apprehensive. I haven't played a tabletop game since my first group four or five years ago, and I've never played online before. Not sure how well I'd do with text. Also a bit unsure how my computer would handle Roll20, though that probably wouldn't be a problem.
Maybe I could hang around for the first session, test the waters a bit? I dunno.
Also, in a somewhat amusing coincidence, I dreamed about making D&D characters last night. I have no idea why, but I did. -

I love Pathfinder, but I am in a couple games already, and I'm not sure I really have the time to commit to another one.
Also wondering - would we be communicating by voice or text during the game? In my (limited) experience, text tends to slow the game down significantly, but voice is more chaotic and I doubt everyone would be comfortable with that. -

That depends on both the GM and the adventure.
For those of you who don't listen to my jabber (like, ever), taninim are a third-party race of dragons. Not draconic humanoids; true quadrupedal dragons.
In a perfect world, I'd be running Rise of the Runelords and permitting any taninim with a good or neutral essence. But there's no guarantee of that. -

As much as I'd love to GM, I am unfortunately subject to limited wifi time. My computer can't be connected to the Internet for more than three hours a day, and the parental units aren't willing to extend it.
I'd hate for everyone's game to screech to a halt because I suddenly vanish without warning, so if anybody has access to PF adventures and GM know-how, I'd gladly accept volunteers and join as a player.
Another issue: how would we deal with time zones? This post is at 6pm my time, so we have to take everyone into consideration. -

I'm afraid that virtual tabletops are the only option in this circumstance. I wouldn't know how to play without maps or minis, so even a virtual one is a nice option to have.
It's also the only virtual tabletop I know of that's, you know, free, an considering that I am flat broke that's also helpful. -
