Hello, all. As many of you know, I have put out the call a couple of times over the years for people to loan me their characters for Catastrophe Theory. Well, I'm back to writing it again, and I find I am running out of characters. Not really sure what happened to all of them, yet, but I'm sure we'll find out.
So, if you want to see me do some terrible things to your characters (just ask the Hippie Sequoia, if you don't believe me), sign them up today! (Technically, they needed to be part of the PPC before mid-2015 for this to work, but I won't tell if you don't.)
Some context, for those who need it.
Catastrophe Theory is an apocalyptic future timeline. Nothing good happens to anyone there. This is the future that happens if the Sues win. You can find the main story at the link below, and supplementary stories linked at the bottom of that one.

...well, the Reader is keeping well out of this. She's getting her happy ending and she's keeping it, alternate timelines aside.
Have a Jacques Bonnefoy, though. He's been around since mid-2013, has some (at least remembered) experience with catastrophes, and can't stay dead outside of Torchwood: Miracle Day. If you can think of something to do with him, then go for it.

You can use any of mine you'd like. The kids would be pretty grown up by then. In spring of 2010 Helen was 9 months, Hannah 11 years, Kevin was 8 and Kyle 9. Safe to assume Cali and Cadmar had broken up years before your setting since I haven't seen Caddie in a long time. Agent Miah would be in her mid-40's by then. Just make it memorable?
I'm actually pretty sure that they would both have died by the point the story takes place in. Min Ra would have probably been killed after leaping in to protect someone else from a Sue (whether or not this was a Leeroy Jenkins move or a last stand and whether or not the person she was protecting died anyway is up to interpretation), and Effie would have been shot down on a mission (death's a hazard for the military).
But hey, if you want to keep one or both of them alive or explore their deaths in flashback, I'm game for it.
Catastrophe Theory takes place in three distinct times. Most of "The End Is Nigh" takes place in the future, around 2023-2025. Flashbacks take place in an alternate 2015. Oopart was pushed through a portal to a point before the timelines split.
So, while I do need characters in the future, I also need characters to do things during the initial invasion. Min Ra and Effie might have a role to play there. We'll have to wait and see.

Peregrin is probably still generally alive, between Medical having good life-extension tech and [the thing that's spoilers for Anathem], Tomash is working in DoSAT by now (and therefore by Catastrophe Theory), but he'd've been in DMS around 2015.
(Farah and Kk'kttak are relatively new, and therefor unavailable, unless you want them to be.)
Feel free to not take me up on this if my lack of canonical output is a problem.

How far in the future is it set?
I don't have an exact date, but it is far enough in the future for most of the 2015 kids to become teenagers.

The Notary makes a perfect Asshole Victim. Of course, Phobos could always go for an Alas, Poor Scrappy moment.
Study and planning will be necessary, so it will not be soon, but rest assured the challenge will be met.

They weren't around in 2015. But Time Shenanigans are archetypical of the PPC, so sure, they're totally there.
If you want ideas for what terrible things can happen to them... Nah. Not giving them. I wanna see what you come up with.
Technically speaking, agents Ix, Lorson, and Farilan weren't in the PPC before mid-2015, there's that detail for you—but if for whatever reason you need more characters, feel free to ruin them. I'll probably be sitting quite gleefully to the sidelines with popcorn.
I do have a job for Alex Dives. Haven't actually started writing that story yet, but it is a major plot point in the series. He'd be perfect for that.
As for the rest, we'll see what we can do.
