If you had a childhood, you just. You need to see this.

And tell me why. Why this can't be real.
...and find ways to END the inevitable urple beings.
Just... just shut up and take my money!
I too want this to be REAL. Dammit.
Well, you see, I watched the TV show and read the books as a small child, but for some reason I decided to rewatch the whole show relatively recently. Maybe a year or so ago? And I discovered two things.
1) There is a teenage fanbase, and
2) There is shipping. Lots and lots of shipping. And when-they're-in-high school/college fics.
I now am part of this fanbase. Arnold/Phoebe, Raphie/Keesha, Carlos/D.A., and Tim/Wanda are my pairings. I would totally go see this movie. Even if it seems to support Ralphie/Phoebe and Arnold/Wanda.
Anybody else aware of the teenage fandom, a part of it, worried about potential badfic in this continuum, or have a favorite pairing?
They're the only two that pop into my head as immediate possibilities, anyway...
I'm worried, now that you've mentioned Badfic and Fandom in the same paragraph.
...It doesn't seem to be prevalent. There might be a few things, but every fandom has its badfic.
Even though it makes absolutely no sense for me to even know about them, and it's literally the only place a British kid would encounter a yellow school bus...
... stars I loved those books.
I would watch this film.
And I will start collecting the books where'er I find them to pass onto the kids.
hS had a childhood too
The ones from before the cartoon, where the illustrations are clearly mixed media. Thanks for reminding me that they probably need to be unboxed.
"hS had a childhood too."
WHAT?!
IMPOSSIBRU!!
I've tried throwing it at the screen, but nothing happens!
Ah, great use of those really old running gags, too. I hadn't even remembered some of them till they were used. I kinda want to watch some old Magic School Bus cartoons now. I watched the one where they went into space and Arnold took off his helmet, and it traumatized five-year-old me.
Poking through Saphie's tumblr to look for updates on that book she was writing, then just because I was bored:

Now I really wanna see this!
...Right in the feels. COME BACK, MAGIC SCHOOL BUS. WE MISS YOU.

I have another response to this as well:
