Hello. I was told this was a place for lighthearted sporkings, quality Mary Sue hunting, and turning badfic into goodfic by way of parody.
I was also told there would be some amount of role play, and the occasional mongeese.
So of course I decided to take a closer look.

Why hello there Kura, as I see you have decided to call yourself, from looking at the rest of this thread. I'm Twistey, a lightly-used-bie with too many writing ideas. I write both fanfic and original stuff, and I tend to study deeply into what makes a story good. I'm in way too many fandoms (even some obscure ones).
Anyway, enough about me, how about you? It seems you were recruited (I think?) and have a fursona (fine by me!), but what other stuff are you interested in? What type of fandoms are you into? Got any original worlds? What do you plan to focus on while you're here (both in terms of sporking vs MST and in terms of what types of badfic you want to cover)? And do you have any agent ideas that I could evaluate? I'd love to know more! :D
Finally, for your newbie gift, here's something I haven't given anyone yet, from one of the less serious fandoms I have. It's a toolkit with a set of knives and other tools designed to look like every existing blade in Fruit Ninja, one for each. Some of them even glow and/or make sounds when you swing them around, thanks to the glory of electronics and motion sensors. Use them wisely, for your virtual self or your agents!
Anyway, it's nice to meet you! Hope you have a great time here and welcome to the PPC!

Since the holiday rush has slowed down for a moment, I'm back to reply to things.
I was more invited than recruited, but that may be more of a point of view difference. I do indeed have a fursona, in addition to a few semi-character-blips that need some fleshing out before I share them. I'll refrain from describing them for the time being.
My fandoms were listed broad strokes in another posting, but I'll try and focus on a different part of my range here. The general rules are that I prefer works that are some flavor of fantasy, and try to keep myself from getting too narrow in my choices.
Video games have been on my list since I found out what a fandom is, with RPGs being the most prominent genre of them, and a few arcade style fighters as more recent additions. The Persona series will likely see some focus.
My enjoyment of tabletop games is more for settings and some light homebrew, though that may just be because I have difficulty in finding groups to play them with. I keep a hefty pile of sourcebooks regardless. Exalted is one of my personal favorites, though it's somewhat obscure, and if there is Suefic of it out there, I've yet to find it. (Admittedly, fics are rare for tabletop RPGs in general.) Chuubo's Marvelous Wish-Granting Engine is a relatively new one I enjoy as well. Both are over the top settings with a relatively high power level, but in very different flavors.
In Exalted, the epic scale is often balanced by the title Exalts still being humans, with actual emotions and motivations. There's also a running theme of 'You could, but should you really?', for a cannon example, you could save a flooded village by killing the relevant river spirit, but if you do, the river might dry up completely, leaving the village you meant to save with a drought to deal with.
Meanwhile, in Chuubo's, the focus is on a more comedic, slice of life experience, though serious moments are still possible. You may go to school with a sun goddess, or have your heart pulled out to turn the rest of you into a giant robot as part of a plan to break out of detention, but it's no big deal, just part of life for an ordinary high school student in Town. Something I particularly enjoy about it is that the system actaully rewards staying in character, developing slowly over the course of personal narrative arcs, and being descriptive about your character's actions and environment.
Wall of text aside, I suppose MST-ing would be more my focus, but I realy can't be sure until I give it a try. Crossovers are of interest, as well as the classic Mary Sue hunting I came here for. I'd rather do more research before committing to any agent ideas. I've had at least one semi-original world, but it was mainly for the sake of a forum game, and never got much described in detail beyond a city or two.
Thank you for the gift, and I hope to see you around while I stay at the board.
RPGs and tabletop games are a good combination. I myself am trying to get into Dungeons and Dragons, having been spurred by a local performance of "She Kills Monsters". The tabletop RPGs you've mentioned sound pretty cool and fun to play (I'm working on possibly creating one of my own similar to Chuubo's, except it's less "haha, all of this is totally normal" and more like "wait, D&D monsters aren't supposed to exist in the real world, but now they suddenly just showed up! What even! AHHH!"). Chuubo's sounds pretty funny, I'll look it up.
*One Googling session and bookmarked page later...*
Alright, that looks like some good fun! Maybe you could talk a bit about it to the rest of the Boarders and see what they all think of it - who knows, you might end up starting something up here!

Hey there newbie! Have some triple chocolate cupcakes and enjoy your stay!
Also, it looks like you have a nice variety of fandoms, dunno about anyone else but I'd be more than happy to converse about some of them...
Let me offer you a bag of black-hole chocolates, and my congrats as a fellow Persona fan. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here.
Hope you'll have fun here. We're all very friendly, and there's a large RP hub on the discord server. As for the name, don't worry too much about it, and if you feel inclined to just dissociate yourself with your past, then create an entirely new one! Whatever you do, I think you'll be fine. What's your favorite color? Cats or dogs? Do you like comics?
Have some rainbow flavored gelato!
I'm defaulting to my furry name for now, and just hoping for the best in terms of my past.
Purple is my favorite color, and usually paired with some form of yellow as a compliment. I favor cats over dogs, and have an odd love of webcomics, but little to no fandom for print ones.
Gelato is always a welcome gift. :3
To put some worries aside, I doubt anyone will look at your past. But, I gotta say, purple and gold go great together, and IIRC, we need more people with some fashion sense. If you want a webcomic recommendation, there's this cute little comic called Spacetrawler 4. https://www.baldwinpage.com/spacetrawler/2010/01/01/spacetrawler-4/ (Fair warning, this contains NSFW language, and some implied content.)
A guy named Larfen originally linked it to me, and I found I really liked it. It's about space. And a slave uprising! And technology. It's cool and I'm a huge fan of it.
I've started making my way through the archive of the comic you linked, and have so far enjoyed it.
Fashion sense can do wonders for a character, even if it's just knowing what colors to use. On a related note to that, clothing design for anthropomorphic creatures is something I try to keep in mind, and that it's a tragically rare thing to see out there.
If you haven't yet read them, may I point you towards the Original Series and the Constitution? They're pretty much the only required reading around these parts. Another useful resource you might use is
I've had a few names on different forums, and have not yet decided which I should use here. My usual name for online social dealings gives away some of my involvement in the furry fandom, and my others are associated with some role play of dubious quality. I would rather not create an additional name, so for now I default to a simple title. Once you finish the Original Series, I highly recommend Huinesoron's and Neshomeh's stuff to read! I guess using my fursona's name here is harmless. And easier to tell apart from other nameless lurkers, so Kura should do as a name for now.
But leaving that aside, I've spent a few nights since the PPC was recommended to me skimming the wiki already, though a good deal of that has been getting sidetracked by extra Firefox tabs, and have given the constitution a read, but have yet to read the orignal series itself.
Also, got any fandoms you'd like to share? Harry Potter, Doctor Who, what?
My fandoms, such as they are, fit the stereotypical nerdy hobbies. Mainly a lose collection of anime and video games I've particualy enjoyed (A decently sized list, but the Persona franchise remains high on it.), tabletop games I gather sourcebooks for (Exalted being the most frequently mentioned, though CMWGE has been getting up there.), but seldom ever play, and a few odds and ends. (RWBY, for instance.) To top this off, The Lion King is a guilty pleasure fandom of mine. I would also describe myself as a former fan of Homestuck, and of the Replay Value universe.
Probably should have started introductions like that, in hindsight. |3
