This first impression which was right after all?
This thing you lose/don't hhave right when you need it?
The uncanny odds that everything will go wrong spectaculary?
Doubting the IO, and its aspects, like the RNG, is madness and it should be feared.
(But as a rolist, I reserve my respect and admiration to our two god emperors, Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson.)
This evening, I was in an Overwatch group and I was ABOUT to say "This team looks perfect," then I stopped myself because I knew if I said it we would definitely fail within the first five minutes. After making this decision, I found myself thinking, "Wait a minute. That's the Ironic Overpower, isn't it. This is reality. But still..." And this happens all the time.
Anyone else?
I mean, I don't consider it to be a real force of destiny, but I make "don't jinx it" jokes whenever someone says something like that.

I came from a rather spiritual family, so while I wouldn't necessarily call myself superstitious, I do find myself hesitating before making definitive statements. Especially things along the lines of, "I will never do this thing! Ever!" Because that's just asking for life to prove me wrong. And I swear, some days I can just feel the Ironic Overpower looming over me. Just waiting for me to make some dumb comment and make it all go horridly wrong.

I try not to speak of anything in definite terms if I can avoid it, for fear that the second I think I know something for sure, I'll turn out to be wrong. This has been a bit of a problem at my job, where my boss wants me to be sure about things. ^_^; I think she might be getting used to the idea that I always double-check, though.
That, and I tend to operate on the principle of "it's better to have and not need than need and not have." I don't mind carrying a bit of extra weight if it means I don't get caught out by the unexpected, or the ironic.

I SWEAR, it has it out for me. *shakes head, hides behind barrel* I have carried an umbrella in my backpack for the last two weeks. The day it finally rained? I gave it to my dear parental unit in the morning because they wanted to take a look at how it worked.
Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong - and is exponentially more likely to if you happen to draw attention to the idea that it can't go wrong.
You'd be foolish not to.
Although as a gamer, I'm a bit more concerned with the Random Number God.
... but to let RNGesus take the wheel.
Too many examples to even share by this point. For me, it's no longer deniable that reality runs on authorship.
