I imagine you play other formats. What's your favorite? I like draft, but I'll play anything and everything. I'm also pretty big into the lore, if that is a thing that interests you.

For anyone who isn't on the Discord server, I did not die. I simply do not have things that I feel would be worth talking about here.
So, how have you guys been? I went to the Magic prerelease this weekend with a friend. It was nice, if a bit loud. Now I'm trying to mitigate the effects of missing half a night's worth of sleep.

...it's a hell of a drug. I never touch the stuff myself. I like my sleep too much. I tend toward noon and later events.

Was playing 2-Headed-Giant (basically 2v2 games) with a friend. Some notable moments:
*Way too many jokes about getting Arcane Adaptation for all of our rares.
*We both ended up pulling Deadeye Tracker for our prerelease cards.
*I opened a Vraska and an Axis of Immortality. My friend didn't pull any mythics.
*We won our first game by dealing 10 points of damage with a tag-team Bishop of the Bloodstained and an Unfriendly Fire.
*We lost our next two games pretty badly. I blame lukewarm draws.
*We got a bye on our last game, so we ended up "playing" against another team that got a bye. We were all sleep-deprived at that point, so you can imagine how that went.
*Trying to figure out how to split the cards we opened. While we were tired. Fun times.

Been trying to cobble together a Commander deck for a while, but other than that I'm not sure if I want to get into other formats.
Got to Germany a few weeks ago to start on my semester of doing research, and since then I've ... done some research. Most of what I've gotten up to was on the project I had started last semester, which has good results now, but the things I specifically came here for are starting up now that all the relevant people are back from traveling.
On top of that, I'm getting hit with all the stuff that goes along with applying to PhD programs. So I'm busy, but not quite buried under all the work (as the inhabitants of the Discord can attest)

I'm spending far too much time trying to revamp my website in the wake of the loss of Photobucket. I could just patch the problems, but I'd rather do a full rebuild and get something that looks good and is stable.

I have some freelance line editing work this coming month, so that's going to keep me busy. Also some proofreading lined up for January. I'm pretty excited about it. I'd just about given up on working in publishing, but I seem to have stumbled upon another path to the goal, if all goes well. ^_^
Phobos wanted to go to prerelease, but unfortunately his usual card shop messed up and didn't get the stuff, and the only other place available was full up. Sadface.
