Um... gonna give the Friday Forum a skip this week. I only had one thing, which is this video of the no-go area outside the Fukushima nuclear power plant; apparently when you don't let people in for six and a half years, the plant life gets really uppity.
So... yeah, I have no idea what's going on in the world out there. Has anything been released? Is anything on fire? I got nothin'. So let's turn the question around: what do you think is worth sharing out of this week's news?
hS
The only fandom news I can really think of right now happens to be in the fandoms of Wolfenstein (TNO to be specific) and Camp Camp (which is also periodically offensive), hence why I call it "driving hS nuts as usual" news.
In the Wolfenstein fandom, we recently got a trailer for "Wolfenstein: The New Colossus", a sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order. You can find the trailer and the trailer for The Old Blood (a prequel to The New Order) on the front page of the Wolfenstein wiki, link below my signature. If you're curious as to what this new strain of Wolfenstein games is about, well... just click the link. I don't feel like I'm entirely safe to describe it here.
As for Camp Camp, the Season 2 finale premiered 2 days ago, and we learned a lot of characters' backstories. I won't give the exact details in case there are any Camp Camp fans out there, but the fandom has definitely shown an increase in activity as of that episode. After the finale, there will apparently be two minor episodes before either a new season or the end of the show occurs (I don't know which.)
So! Hope y'all find my news useful. I don't have anything else to say. G'bye!

I never objected to the fact that you play the Wolfenstein games, or that they feature Hitler (heck, Iron Sky was one of my favourite films of the year it came out); I objected to the part where you made Hitler a literal god in the Plort setting. There is a huge, huge difference between those two.
hS
my past experience with Europeans in general, and how terribly short and triggered-sounding your replies were to that incident. Since you suddenly jumped on me with disciplinary posts that left me thinking "Huh? What is Godwin's Razor and why the heck should I care?", and then you did the thing with Good Omens, I kind of thought that you just didn't like any un-serious depiction of Hitler and that I'd ruined Iron Sky for you with my shplat. I was kind of trying to turn an incident that I'd otherwise dwell on for literally years (I'm not kidding, I remember mistakes I've made when I was... six? Seven?) into a running joke so that I wouldn't dwell on it. Hence the constant insistence on finding ways to "drive you nuts". And now you know my meaning.

Either way, I was kind of distrustful of you up until the pancake/Force/lightsaber fight, and despite your still-triggered-sounding annoyance at my thoughts of possible bandom and Neshomeh's reassurances (thanks, Nesh), I was still ready to be an outcast. I even had an idea for a sci-fi themed parallel to the PPC, which then luckily turned into a harmless story that I think will be pretty cool once it's done. The weird lightsaber fight thing with cosplay is actually kind of helping me trust you again, so well, thanks for engaging me in the weirdest RP fight I've ever been in. (No, wait, maybe not the weirdest...)
Anyway, so if you're okay with the news, what's your reaction to the news?

Also, since I guess you can't get onto my website, you might be interested in a link to Fandom Protection Fleet: Far Far Away, my Star Wars-themed AU PPC fic.
As to the news... I have no reaction? I've never played a Wolfenstein game and I don't even know what a Camp Camp is. But I'm pleased you posted some?
hS
I'm really glad we could get this worked out. Nice fic, by the way.
Speaking of, I had an idea for another PPC AU, this one superhero-themed. I call it "The Protectors of Plotropolis"! Agents are superheroes, Boarders are part of a SHIELD-like organization that manages the superheroes, and the Mary Sues are supervillains. Sound cool? Any ideas?
For the news, oh hoho, I'm going to have fun with this! Well, Camp Camp is about a bunch of kids (mostly aged 10) at a weird summer camp that's actually a scam. The adult cartoon is produced by Rooster Teeth, who also created RWBY and Halo: Red Vs Blue. (Not the exact same people, though. Different teams, different projects.) It gets kind of offensive in a fun way at times, and there is a character who was created to be a walking Hitler joke. (He's actually not quite as bad as that makes him sound, and in fact he is really adorable, which is why he's my favorite.) There's a Camp Camp Wikia if you wish to read more. As for Wolfenstein, particularly Wolfenstein 3D, I've been using an online emulator at wolf3d.atw.hu if you want to give it a try. It's pretty fun.

Where it doesn't show the edit toolbar and more importantly who wrote it? I think I want to do a Fanfic World thing (since it's obvious you don't need permission to do so), but I have to use my school account which uses my real name, since the non-personal account I'm planning to make for this thing isn't up and running yet...

(Also, back on the news topic, if you really want to find out about the Wolfenstein series, you should probably check out the 3-part "History of Wolfenstein" video series on YouTube made by The Gaming Historian. It goes really in depth as to what each game in the huge franchise is all about.)

Namely for the Half-Life fandom.
Today, almost ten years after Half-Life 2: Episode 2 was released, Marc Laidlaw wrote what he calls a peice of fanfiction. However, Laidlaw was one of the head writers for the Half-Life series. This "fanfiction" is a proposed plot for the fabled Half-Life 2: Episode 3.
It should be noted, this is not strictly "canon." At the end of the day, only Valve has the ability to give us that. However, it has become increasingly clear over the decade since the last installment, Valve is not actively working on the next entry in the series. Marc Laidlaw left Valve eighteen months ago, and from this proposed plot, we can guess why. Valve is not working on any games that require a head writer. There is no Episode Three. There never will be an Episode Three. This is the closure to the story that fans have been longing for these many years. At least, as close to "official" closure as we will ever get.
There are two versions of this plot. On Marc's website, you can read Epistle 3 However, to avoid potential legal action from Valve, he changed the names and pronouns of several characters. While you can fairly easally tell who everybody is supposed to be, fans have gone ahead and changed the proper nouns back to their canon counterparts. You can read that Here.

And it looks like a disaster. Emphasis on 'looks like'. We seem to hold the idiot ball in heraldry and flaglore. And Indonesia is being their usual tsundere self and hates Malaysia for Polanding them, baka!
But we win quite some medals. We are seemingly concerned that we are but village champions in sports. I mean, since when did we ever reach qualifying rounds in World Cup?
Konosuba gets a third season. Re:Creators may be ending within a few weeks. Gintama will have its first action movie. And when will Neon Genesis Evangelion 4.44 will come out?
It's only a trailer for now, but... Ages of Empire IV is officially a reality!
And because they always need more money, 'definitive' eitions of the three precedent games of the series are in preparation.
