The First Photo has been taken, the children have been dropped off, and we're off to the 2017 London Gathering!
hS & Kaitlyn
Oh sweet jesus, that's big.
From left to right:
Huinesoron, Kaitlyn, Matt Cipher, Iximaz, foofooman3, Scapegrace, Geeky Gal, CodeCom, The Irish Samurai, and Novastorme. In the background: a petrified tree that we used as our meeting point.
That this group, from this point onwards, be known as the Sensational Butterflies!
that the tallest guy is standing next to the shortest guy. And it looks like Novastorme isn't even standing fully upright. Whose cruel idea was that? {X D

I call Legolas. Kaitlyn has already put in her claim for Boromir (being brooding, cynical, and possibly evil).
Taking bets now on who ends up as the Suvian.
(Obviously Iximaz's parents are Bills the Ponies.)
hS
help me, playing one in Blood Raining Night affected me a little bit. Nya~
If I did, it would be long, flowing, and not at all going blonde at the edges because my stylist used a semi-permanent dye that washed out too much on the first night. >.>
... of the eViL cUrSe that someone eViL put on you!!! It was probably Boromir - everyone knows she's eViL, and who else are you going to blame? The adonkable hobbits? Legolas? Don't make me laugh-like-the-babbling-of-a-brook.
Oh, or it could be Gingly or whatever the ugly short one's name is.
~JayBird, apparently
And why has nobody else seen it?
o.o
-Kaitlyn, peering into the spectral realm (or just really distractable)
Thank you to everyone who attended. We all had a great time, and it was... well, I admit I had been terrified out of my mind the night before. I don't go out as myself all that much, and I had horrendous nightmares about being shunned for coming in clothing that reflected my real gender rather than the one I had been assigned at birth. Those fears were totally irrational, but the feeling I got when I realised they were totally unfounded, that I could be me around the people I care about?
It means a lot.
I lack the words to express how much.
Thank you. =]
—Wait, what do you mean we're not having a Pern sing-along? Aw.
Sigh. So sad we couldn't be there this year. Looks like it was a good group! I will look forward to pictures and reports and whatever else comes out of it. ^_^
As for a Midwest US Gathering, there's always Chicago! We are centrally located for all major forms of transportation! {= D

We have family there. ^_^
Not sure what there is to do there for adventurous PPCers with empty wallets, though. Any ideas?
(Chicago isn't that bad, though. You just have to expect people to completely disregard the rules and basic safety, and you'll be fine. >.> )
~Neshomeh
...I'd gladly take on Chicago rather than Edinburgh.
Maybe I can convince Aegis to come, make a weekend of it...
Team hS and Team Ix are present by the petrified tree in front of the NHM.

Clockwise from top left, we are: CodeCom, Kaitlyn, Novastorme, Huinesoron, Irish Samurai, and FooFoo. And that's... half of the people present! Even if you discount Iximaz's parents (because who counts grown-ups in a Gathering.... ahem!), there were still 10 of us, which is as far as I know the largest PPC Gathering in history.
It was heaps of fun, I have heaps of photos, and there will be a report... hopefully in less than a year!

*waves from the car on the way to Cardiff, where she is piggybacking on her mom's hotspot*
Good news, now that I have a soft place to sit down and unwind, my back is doing loads better now. I wouldn't trade it for the world, though—I had a blast getting to meet everyone and we'll have to do it again sometime.
Also, hS! I have mucho picturas! Shall I email them to you, or what?
Can you tell I haven't taken a Spanish class in a while?
But yeah, Midwestern US Gathering when? :)
Everyone, please be aware that the Circle line is closed through South Kensington, and the District line too from South Ken to points west. You can still reach the station on the Piccadilly line, and I assume the District from the east? Not positive there.
One hour to go!
hS
I'm still yawning, but I was so excited I couldn't get back to sleep.
My family is very excited and we'll be heading out early today, too—hopefully, my back won't gove me too much trouble. :)
