PPC Hunger Games! by

It's been over a year and a half since last time, and since it looks like no one is stepping up yet... how's about I give it a go?
Rules are simple - volunteer up to four of your own Agents and, in the event our cap isn't reached, some potential NPCs, too. Once I've got everyone, the simulation will begin, and our tributes will battle to the death in glorious holodeck combat to avoid any actual lasting damage!
Permission isn't strictly required, but it is encouraged. Regardless, it's vaguely expected that there be brief interviews explaining why your agents have volunteered themselves for this and - after each day - another short thing where they vaguely react to what they've done.
Now, then. I mentioned a cap. Only a grand total of 48 agents or agents-to-be will be accepted into the sixth season of the PPC Hunger Games. This is for my own sanity just as much as it's for ease of function; acceptance is first come, first serve. Get your places before they're gone! -

As of writing this, there are still thirteen empty slots. Since I want to give everyone a fair chance to volunteer the agents they want, I've not been filling in the additional "if you need more people" tributes. But since replies seem to be slowing down, I've come to a decision so this isn't postponed indefinitely:
As of 6:00 PM EST tomorrow, the secondary volunteers will be added. This will, as before, be first come, first serve - that is, the earlier they were given up, the more likely it'll be that they actually get in. Unless I find someone I just especially want to write in, in which case I declare that I'm running this and therefore get to take pleasure in having some specific names that make me smile. I'm sure everyone knows how that goes, and if you decide you don't like it... okay I'll probably change it if you come tell me it made you mad. -

All 48 slots have now been filled. Now - to make a few final tweaks to the events list so it's not boring and get to writing the first day!

Why am I entering? Come now! Surely one of HQ's premier gamers needs no particular reason to enter a game?
. . .
Aaaaaah, well. Perhaps I am . . . curious? To see how a carbon copy of me would end up faring against others in Headquarters. I am, after all, a wizard in-name only, thanks to my original fanfiction's wording. I . . .
. . .
I look forward to seeing how a wizard with no magic can manage to survive.
((This is a character I've had little opportunity to get on-page. He appeared in the second story at this link, and at this link.))

Then, as promised, my entries:
1. Jacques Bonnefoy ("wizard!Jacques"). 25 year old wizard of Scottish and French parentage from a Potterverse fusion. Mortal.
2. Jacques Bonnefoy ("Canon!Jacques"). 150+ year old immortal human from the 51st century, aka the one you can find on the wiki.
3. Jacques Bonnefoy ("EPC!Jacques"). 150+ year old immortal (and immoral!) human from the 51st century, aka the one from the the Mirrorverse who wears a lot more black.
4. Jacques Bonnefoy ("Young!Jacques"). 21 year old human from the 51st century. Very recently a Time Agent. Mortal.
Because the joke that my entry would be four versions of Jacques was made, and I found the idea of actually doing it hilarious. Enjoy? :D

Jacques, why have you chosen to enter the Games?
Wizard!Jacques:"Stress relief?" /smiles/ "I just thought it might be a good way to meet new people." /looks to the side/ /dryly/ "Of course, I didn't bank on three of them being myself..."
Canon!Jacques: "Well, plenty of other people seem to be doing it. I thought I'd give it a go too, since it's all in the holodeck." /winks/ "I'm mainly looking to make alliances...how about with you, gorgeous?"
EPC!Jacques: "Let's get something straight--I work alone, when the options include you. You may be immortal, but you're weak. And I'm looking at this as a...training exercise. Of course, most of the other contestants have counterparts in my world...which bumps my answer up to 'stress relief' as well, I should think." /smirks/ "Or maybe...payback."
Young!Jacques: /side-eyes EPC!Jacques/ "Yeah, I'm just out for a good time, here. We run the sim, see how it goes, then go out for drinks at the end." /winks/ "I know the drill. Hey, any chance we can use aircraft in this? You might not know this about me, but I'm especially good in the air." -

Same two agents-to-be as last time, CSF Officer Larkus Grun and Turff-Croft A.K.A. Curff the Sorcerer. Last time I got sidetracked by a six hundred mile road trip after the first interview, hopefully this time I'll actually get to stick with it.

Larkus: "Hey, why not? It's a competition, it'll be fun! Last time I only made it to day four, but I'll do better this time, I've been practicing."
Curff: "Ordinarily I would be quite content with only one entry into this contest under my belt, but given my lackluster performance in the last tournament and my failure to provide the interviews I promised, I feel duty-bound to make a second attempt. Though I do hope my elimination will not be quite as... brutal, as it was last year." *glances uneasily at Zeb* -

(Assuming there's a Monitor representative hiding somewhere, they can feel free to ask questions. But for now, why they're participating.)
Apecian: "Well, for one thing, it gets me out of missions while I'm in it." Grins. "Oh, who am I kidding? I'm in this because it sounds like it'll be a blast! Since nobody's actually getting hurt, I can really cut loose and see how I do in an arena like this!"
Michael: Smiles slightly. "Apecian was rather enthusiastic about entering and asked me to join too, and I thought I might as well."
Animus: "My reasons are my own."
Dilx'Sav'Te'Rin: "Well, I don't know much about what these are, but everybody was really excited about these games, so I thought I might as well sign up! From the way everyone was talking, it sounds like it might be fun." -
Volunteering Edward and Kat! by

Kat isn’t allowed her ymbryne powers as that makes her way too OP.
Edward: I’m treating this as a training exercise. If I can survive half of HQ then I can survive any Sue, however powerful.
Kat: That and you want to be bloodthirsty without causing any actual damage. Anyway, I’m only joining to support Edward. Not expecting to be much use with my sub-par fighting skills, but anything’s better than endless Suefics. -

Taq, Mary Sues (Tolkienverse orc): [just a bit after the sign-up deadline] "Hey, hey, can I still get in, please? This sounds like a good time!" (In other words, toss him in if you need more people)
Peregrin, Mary Sues (Human, Anathem-verse avout): [several days after the deadline, while checking email] "Oh, the Henger Games are being organized again ... Huh, must have not noticed. Oh well. No time right now anyway." (That is, he's not in)

Bingle: 'But, when I am through with this competition, they will need to rename it to the "Extremely Well-Fed Games"!'
Finch: 'Bingle-s been trying to teach me how to cook, so, of course, his first bloody idea is to enrol me into a massive cooking competition. Oh, good God. I can-t imagine how this situation could reveal itself to be any worse.'
Anne: 'Finch and Bingle are acting like we're going to be cooking. Everyone else is acting like we're all going to murder each other. I haven't done murdering or cooking in a while. I'm up for either.'
Ninetwo: Events like these are, I believe, incredibly important for building camaraderie among co-workers, boosting, as a whole, productivity and cooperation among an organisation. I believe it is my responsibility to help, in any way, this goal. For the sake of my co-workers, and the PPC as a whole.
Umm. I also miss the brute violence of External Security. A little. Not much. Or, um, a lot. But not much. -

The Aviator: Honestly, I would have preferred to stay in the RC with Elanor, but Zeb begged and pleaded and I couldn't say no. Let's see if I can get myself eliminated quickly from this thing.
Zeb: Hey, it'll be good for you to get out of the RC and knock a few heads together.
Ix: I don't like this. I actually feel kind of sick—wait, four Jacques-es?
Charlotte: I don't expect to even come close to winning, especially since this will be my first time participating as a human, but I'm still going to give it my best shot.
Lorson: *flips off the camera*
Dax: *winks at the camera* I'm just here to have fun, really. I'm not going to give it my all—it'd hardly be fair—but I figure this will still be an enjoyable training exercise regardless of what happens. Good luck, everyone! And Jacques, Jacques, Jacques, and Jacques—I'll see you in the arena. -
