I'm up for anything in London.
I'm going to be in London for the second half of next month!
As such, I hereby propose a Gathering! To be held somewhere in London, on Saturday, October 20th!
...and if a local could kindly help with planning, this poor tourist would be very appreciative.
Hoping to see a reasonable chunk of you all then!

Since bus prices from where I am to London are surprisingly cheap, it looks like I'll be there as well!

hS, you might remember Voldemort from the 2014 Gathering?
One of my flatmates and I went to the British Museum today and I made it my goal to find He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Well... I did.
*grins*
Thank you so much for reminding me of His Marble Darknessness. ;)

I'd have to talk to my dad though.
I'm up for anything in London.
(I'm not one to break a theme, after all. ^_~)
We should be able to come, but will have to bring the kids along. If the Gathering takes place at a museum-y-type-place, Kaitlyn has offered to split off with them once they get too antsy. So... how does the Science Museum sound? It's free, it's easy to access (right next to the Natural History Museum), and it's the one we were going to do last time if we had time, but didn't.
Also, y'know... science.

Although I kinda need to know things like timings ASAP due to other things that may or may not be happening that weekend.
That's when the Science Museum opens, so it makes sense. The queue doesn't get too long there, so just meeting outside the front door seems plausible; I think we mostly recognise each other by now.
There's the usual flexibility in when to end the Gathering; we'll probably have to duck out early once the kids get cranky, but anyone who needs to go can go when they need to (if that makes sense).
On past evidence, we'll probably spend the whole day in the Science Museum; it has a range of options for buying food, from burgers to salads to milkshakes, plus a couple of nice 'picnic areas'. There are various things you can pay to access (a practical science area called the Wonderlab, an IMAX screen running space shows, I think there's a flight simulator too), but it seems unlikely we would.

I started babysitting when I was twelve, CPR and first-aid trained. If you guys need any help keeping the little ones under control, I'd be more than happy to offer a hand.
Science museum sounds excellent, too!
Do I count as a local now? :P
So... I was looking at going to London for MCM con as tickets are still available, however if I did that I wouldn't be able to go up to London on the 20th as well (because of family things).
But I can swap things round real easily because I haven't actually booked anything yet.
I will be at MCM as well, and while cons aren't the best for Gatherings, you certainly shouldn't feel like you need to choose between me and MCM.
The main reason I was thinking of going to MCM was because someone had said about a couple of PPCers (you included) coming down for it. So it's not like I was planning on going to it anyway, it was just a side bonus of a potential mini/improntu Gathering that doesn't matter as much anymore.
