Welcome back. 2008, you say? Whoa. Name's desdendelle, I've been around here for a little less than a year. Here, have a sample of Stygian tea - made from the very best Camelia Sinsesis Carnivorae leaves there are. It's really, extremely bitter, but still really good.
So, a good while ago, this Board was a huge part of my life...then college hit, and I kinda vanished...sorry about that...
It's been a long time, so here's the short version: I'm Tomato, and my primary agent pair were Maria Falcone and Crispin Reed of RC #24601. Last time I was here, the PPC was still recovering from the Second Ypur Invasion.

Is very, very cool to see you again! We haven't had a Ypur invasion in a little while, but things maintain the upness and the downness and myriad chaos in between. Business as usual, really!

The Ypurs were always entertaining, but they did make things a bit difficult.

Which Ypur invasion was that? 'Cause I think there were two in 2008, but then we had another one in 2010, at least according to the wiki pages on the subject.

I do indeed have a shiny degree, and now I'm working towards my master's. I have my very own cat and a kitchen full of tea.
So, what exciting insanity have I missed?
I also acquired a shiny degree, a cat, and a kitchen full of tea in the last four years, plus a husband! It's been exciting. No master's for me, though. I ran out of sanity and money for that sort of thing.
As for around here, VM covered it pretty well: ups, downs, and in-betweens. Looks like you already heard about Makes-Things coming back—I did that, at the beginning of this here monster of a mission. It was time.
The return of Fritz and Silas and the PPCing of "Cupcakes" was a fairly big deal, too. Are you familiar with that at all?
Oh, and SeaTurtle has breathed life into the Department of Intelligence, which is pretty cool. I recommend checking his stuff out.
I'm sure there are a zillion interesting things I'm missing. ^_^;

2008, eh? That was one of HQ's biggest years in terms of Emergencies... Well, as far as I know we didn't have any new ones so nothing much as changed.
Except Makes-Things isn't dead. That's a big one.
