I'm glad you had Caroline own up to her emotional state in that last mission. It would be difficult for most characters to admit they over-reacted, and it's big of her to do so.
I also find it interesting that Caroline and Veralyn's bickering is obnoxious enough to keep a mini-Discord too morose and distracted to delight in much mischief . . .
In which loose ends from "Lightning Strikes" are tied up and we discover what Flutteryshy did to make Veralyn start shrieking. Contains mild language, an injured agent, and an instance or two of crude humor from said injured agent.

The main reason behind that is Caroline's status as my self-insert. In her position, I would have done the same - although the motive was not and would not have been owning up so much as voicing a fear. I imagine that worst-case scenario of going she-who-fights-monsters played a role in her nightmares...
Yes, Caroline and Veralyn bicker so much that even the mini-Discord has already become annoyed. Fear not (or start being very afraid, mayhap)! An annoyed mini-Discord can be a terrible thing to share an RC with! -cackles-
I do so like this. You managed to blend serious discussion about a rather horrific badfic with hilarity without giving me whiplash, and I cackled a few times. Is awesome!I want Caroline and Maggie to run into each other at some point. Just because.
