Greetings. First of all, I am new to this board and my only mileage so far comes from reading the Jay and Acacia Original Series, the FAQs and the Constitution, as well as other PPC works. Second, please do not be offended that I do not disclose my real name nor my usual handle here, as I would like to stay as anonymous as possible. For correspondence purposes, you may refer to me as AnonymousInformer or AnonI for short. Third, I would like some clarification regarding Real-Person Fanfictions and the PPC’s stance regarding them before I post information about a RPF Fic that I highly suspect to be a particularly nasty Sue Fic, in my opinion at least. I would highly appreciate any Boarders, although I do prefer the experienced ones, such as Admins, that can answer these questions.

First question: What is the general policy of the PPC and Boarders toward Real-person Fanfictions that has potential to become a Sue Fic as well as depicting gratuitous sexual abuse and possible misconception of BDSM? (I am terribly sorry if these topics are not allowed to be mentioned here due to the kid-friendly nature of this board) Specifically, are badfic recommendations of these kinds of Fics allowed or not?

Second question: Which thread should I go to to post a badfic recommendation in order to get said badfic sporked if it is an RPF?

Third question: I am still not sure wether the Fic I was planning to suggest is suitable for sporking. In that case, can I still post that Fic in the appropriate Fic recommendation thread?

I do not intend to stay in this forum for a long time and I will definitely not become an Agent nor write any Missions Fics, as the only reason I will be posting here is just to “point out” a certain Fic that may require sporking. Therefore, I apologize in advance for not providing any personal details or interests, other than that I am a fan of the NBC-version of Hannibal (which is related to the Fic I referred to so far), to preserve my anonymity.

We don't have admins for the Board, per se, but I am what you might call one of the Experienced Ones. {= )

To answer all three questions at once: The PPC's general stance on Real Person Fic about living people is that it is in poor taste regardless of subject material, since by writing it you purport to know something about the private lives of the public figures you're writing about. That claim is... dubious. {= ) That means it's equally dubious for us to imply we know them better in a sporking (also a type of fanfic), though, so we don't spork RPF anymore.

That said, you're absolutely allowed to complain about it, because bad writing is bad writing. This thread would be the place to do it. I don't know who here might also be into Hannibal, but there are probably one or two of us who are. If the subject matter of a post is NSFW, just make sure to do what you did for this post and mark it as such. And, of course, remember to discuss sensitive subjects with sensitivity and respect.

Thank you for your answer and the clarification regarding the RPFs, as the PPC wikia page’s explanation is rather scant and a little bit too ambiguous for me. Your answer stops me just in time from posting something that I would regret later. Since most of the possible badfics I have in mind are RPFs, I would never suggest them for sporkings. Although, I might take up on your offer on discussing it in this or an ordinary badfic thread, if I do have some free time and enough courage to do so.

In the meantime, I might try to find badfics from the more conventional fandoms, particularly the Doctor Who or BBC-version of Sherlock ones for proper recommendation.

Once again, thank you for helping me. I truly felt honored that someone whose handle-name crops up very often in some official PPC documents and Fics would be the first one to respond to my first post. Please consider that as a compliment.

On a final note, how do you italicized words in the posts here?

In either case, congratulations.

And as for italics, HTML formatting on the Board uses the carrot-brackets: < and >. When writing an end tag use / >.

So this looks like < i > this i > when spaced out. The same goes for underlined (< u >/ u >) and bold (< b >/ b >). < em >/ em > works the same as italics, as well, as does < strong >/ strong >) for bold.
