For quite a while now, the IRS has had a Free File program, that'd give people making under $59k free, full-featured tax software. Until recently, though, the tax industry's been trying to just quietly not mention the existence of this thing (including having their free file pages not be indexed by Google) and to set up websites rigged to get to people not to take advantage of it. The worst of this was fixed after media uproar, but there's probably still people on the Board who would want to know this information but don't - I sure didn't know about this until a few months ago.

And so, I'm plugging the free file stuff to spread the word.
