I would read a book solely devoted to the adventures of Piemur, Farli, and Stupid scouting the Southern Continent together, which is most of what he's actually up to when DCode takes place, as far as I can tell from a quick fact-checking skim of WD. I would also take a mystery or a spy thriller! Pern can stand up to both, as far as I'm concerned. There's almost always a mystery of some sort in the plot, and we know the Harper Hall employs discreet eyes-and-ears to keep on top of Hold politics and the general Pernese zeitgeist (excellent Scrabble word, if you can get away with it). It wouldn't be a stretch to lean into those things more. And hey, if we can do a mystery without a "message in a time capsule" plot device for once, bonus points! ^_~

Here's a story I want for selfish personal reasons: the founding of Eastern/Monaco Bay Weyr and how Bronzerider T'gellan and Greenrider Mirrim make their unconventional leadership work. We know virtually nothing about that. There's plenty of room to expand on it, and I want a more detailed backdrop for my bizarre, meta fan character's history, dammit.

Hah, I remembered one more detail that would be far less irritating were this book about anyone but Piemur: what in the name of the First Egg is a "bubbleberry pie"? It certainly isn't Piemur's favorite treat. That's a bubbly pie, which has never, to my knowledge, ever been referred to as anything else by anyone. And when I Googled "bubbleberry pie" just now, most of the results I got aside from the line in DCode were for a genderbent Pinkie Pie or a strain of cannabis, so I will pick the heck out of that nit, thank you very much. {X D

~Neshomeh will be laughing at that one for a little while.
