I made an account for the wiki a few days ago, and I found a badfic I wanted to claim on the Unclaimed Badfic page. But I can't edit the page to move it to Claimed Badfic. I can only view the source, and it says "You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason: This page has been locked to prevent anonymous editing." I have an account and I can edit the other pages on the wiki, but not that one. Is there some sort of qualification I need to edit the page?
So, you'll just have to wait a little longer (a week total, IIRC), and you'll get access. {= )
The lock is in place to discourage people from outside the community cluttering the list with stuff that no one here is likely to be interested in sporking.
There are a few other pages like that, and a very few that are admin-locked to discourage trolls, but not many.

Because I was able to edit it with the replacement account I had created like 5 minutes beforehand.
No, we don't protect pages unless we have to. We've never had a problem with non-members trying to claim fics, so there's no reason to lock the page.
