Truth! Freedom! Justice! Reasonably-Priced Love! And A Hard-Boiled Egg!
Yes again, o Boarders, the geekiest pride-iest day of the year is upon us. For today is not only the commemoration of the establishment of the Glorious People's Republic of Treacle Mine Road (you had to be there, at least to wear the lilac), it's also Towel Day (Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy) and the anniversary of the release of the first Star Wars movie back in 1977. (It's also Turkmen Carpet Day, but that's entirely coincidental this year).
I inadvertently wore lilac (or at least the closest my wardrobe gets) today without even thinking about it. And I always know where my towel is.
Hope everyone a-Board is as safe and sane as possible at the moment.
Elcalion, delurking in lilac
I forgot to wear a lilac.
Ah well...
I also managed to wear a light purple shirt today without realizing what I was doing! {= D My neighbors have actual flowering lilacs in their yard, too. 'Tis a good day.

I unfortunately did not think to wear lilac this morning, but in my defense it’s not included in my job’s dress code (I work in Goodwill’s e-commerce section for my area). I am wearing black for Memorial Day, which I may regret this afternoon as the warehouse gets stuffy very quickly.
We have taught our children that on Lilac Day, you have to eat a hard-boiled egg. We have not told them that it's fictional. ^_^
I also wore my lilac brooch (and Assassin's Guild t-shirt) while we went for a walk, which was fortunate, because all the actual lilac is well past flowering now.
