I'm FriedNoodles. Why this name? I don't know, because I've always liked mie goreng? (Indonesian for stir-fried noodles, a dish that has been turned into its own popular instant ramen flavor) Not very creative, but then again I never claimed that I am (nor will I probably ever be lol).

Anyway, a bit about myself: my native language is Indonesian, English is my second (or arguably third if you consider Sundanese, my local language) and I'm hoping I could improve my German and Japanese. Fandoms that I'm into include (from most liked to least liked) Team Fortress 2; Ed, Edd n' Eddy; Sonic the Hedgehog (which is kind of weird considering I never finished a Sonic game in my entire life and what got me into it was actually Sonic X out of all things); and Ace Attorney. Favorite genre of writing/stories would probably be comedy and/or slice-of-life. My favorite activities include music (I listen to mostly rock and metal with a sprinkle of other genres, I also play guitar, bass, and drums), drawing (not very good at it, but if you'd like a look, here (not sure if plugging non-writing stuffs is permitted, but… meh, didn't see it forbidden in the Constitution)), and collecting memes and what-not. Surprisingly enough, creative writing isn't listed there since I don't consider myself good enough at it for it to be a favorite activity nor do I practice it often.

Other than that, I've randomly stumbled upon the PPC at 1 AM and my initial thoughts are: "My God (or Glod if you will), it's like you guys created your own language or something." Seriously, I had to open like, nearly 20 Wiki tabs about this entire thing. But I have to admit I'm mildly intrigued.

Now, the reason I've joined is to plug in a recent fanfic I've finished, it's a Sonic fanfic titled "A Broken Bond" (the cover for which I drew myself even though it's not that special). I'm honestly not quite sure about the entire thing since, well… it's my first (I actually had a couple of other fanfics when I was younger but I've erased them from existence since they were pretty embarrassing) and it might even be a badfic for several reasons I've kept in my head already. But, I'll let you guys be the judge.

So… yeah. Thank you for accepting me, although chances are I won't be that active here since I'm not sure what my next move in creative writing would be.

It seems like we've got a lot of new people lately, which is super exciting. You're also making me crave that fried noodle dish... gosh, it'd be cool to try it someday. It's good to meet you! Have an Automatic Hugging Machine, which is only being sold in one color right now. Luckily, it's the color that happens to be your favorite.

You're absolutely allowed to plug non-writing things. I took a peek, and I think you have the makings of a good style there! The human characters remind me of newspaper comic strips (anyone remember actual newspapers? ^_~) like Garfield and Kathy, but not so much as to seem derivative of anything in particular. Keep doing it, and think you'll see yourself improve a lot in a short time.

As for writing, you don't have to write to be an active member here. As long as you're interested in participating in discussions about fandom and other topics and in commenting on other people's stuff, you'll always have a way to engage. You may also wish to join the Discord, but I'll let someone who's more active there plug it further.

I'd be interested in hearing what the fandom experience is like where you are. Given some of our newest members, it seems like there's a growing scene in southeast Asia and the South Pacific, which is pretty cool. What are you into that isn't a Western export*? Might we of the Caucasian persuasion broaden our horizons your way? (This query goes out to anyone who wants to respond!)

*ETA: By which I mean anything more local, less widely known, because I realize that Sonic and Ace Attorney are Japanese franchises. They just have a presence in my culture large enough that it seems like they've always been here. ~~Also I'm a bit stupid sometimes.~~ >.>

Anyway, about the fandom experience, I'm not sure either to be honest. Perhaps I'm not the best person to ask about that, because although I'm Indonesian, all my life I've been actively interacting with Western exports and their audiences so much that I feel more related to them than their Indonesian counterpart. Not to mention the things I like are pretty niche over here, so I don't have that many people to engage with in real life. I mean I still listen to some Indonesian music and watch some movies, they're nice, but I rarely hold them up high nor do they normally have consistent fandoms emerging around them. So yeah, sorry I can only answer that much, but if you'd like some recommendations on Indonesian songs, I could list down a few.

I like learning about new (to me) music, and I know I'm not the only one.

No need to apologize for the rest. I was curious about your experience of fandom in a culture I'm not familiar with, and there's no wrong answer to that. I just thought I should put forth a bit of effort to welcome what may be different as well as what may be the same. Thanks for sharing!

I think we can all relate to the story of finding friends and community online that we wouldn't otherwise have IRL. Fanfiction may not be completely unheard of like it was back when the PPC was founded, but it's still considered a weird hobby, and the PPC is an even weirder subset of a weird hobby. ^_^

The Changcuters - Main Serong (this one's highly reminiscent of a '60s or '70s rock n' roll spy movie theme)

Padi - Sobat (quite an old one from the '90s)

Nidji - Hapus Aku (a lot softer than the previous two, with English captions too)

There's more, but I think it would be too much if I list them all in one go, lol. Just hit me up if you're interested to know more.
