So, I've recently read that mission with Jack Russel, and it's hilarious! One question though-- why is the Cyba character obsessed with red? I'm a huge Trekkie, and I've never seen anything that indicates Borg having obsessions with colours. True, they use green lighting, but they don't seem entranced by green. So, why is Cyba like that?

Well... I never really left; I'm just a really chronic lurker.

As for Cyba, it basically boils down to a mix between the disguise generator accident, the Ironic Overpower and the fact that wearing red tends to attract trouble in the Trekverse (plus her being transformed into a member of a villain species). Sigma and Phi are drawn to different colours due to the imperfect mode of their creation - the canon was so bent they didn't even end up as proper clones.

Since her author isn't active anymore, that question that would be best answered by reading her previous stories, but the short answer is it's unclear. I know this because I looked up Cyba Zero on the wiki. You can, too! {= )
