I discovered a very useful book about writing fiction the other day. It even has a whole chapter on writing fanfiction. It's also engaging enough that I'm probably going to end up rereading it for pleasure. The author is someone who has gained a fair bit of notoriety in various fandoms for writing high quality crossovers to the point she's been called "the queen of crossovers". The book is Gateway to Fiction by C. Chancy.
