Also: new officialness. If I don't have the addresses by the time I get home on Monday. (5:00 EST), I'm going to start without anyone who has yet to give me their address. Including me, we have six people, so it will all work out either way.
The last one of these was pretty neat (at least, I thought it was.) So I figured we should do it again!
Before doing ANYTHING LISTED BELOW please respond that you want to participate on this thread. In order for this to happen, we need enough people who want to participate! If we don't get enough, there is not reason for you to send me your address!
Details/rules/how this mess works:
So the PPC has lots o' folks who live all over the place. Most of these places have something cool nearby, I'm sure. So I had an idea. What if did some kind of post card exchange?
The idea is simple: a list of interested people will each have someone randomly selected for them to send a post card to, who is also on that list. So if you participate, you will be, theoretically, sending one post card and receiving one post card.
I will give one address to each person, and they will send their post card to that address. If you are participating, please email me your address no later than Wednesday night. My email, once again, is guvnorofspace AT SYMBOL HERE gmail DOT PERIOD THING com.
Ideally, I'd like everyone to have their post card into the mail within a week of getting the address of the person they are sending it to. This is because procrastination is bad! Please let me know when you mail your post cards.
As to the question of how to address them: If you are not comfortable giving your real name, that is probably okay. Real names are of course ideal, but just a first name and a last initial should work. 'Current Resident' I know will work, but that means its legally addressed to anyone living at home with you, so I would discourage that.
Please send me an email, or respond to this post, once you have sent your postcard.
Two more addresses. You know who you are, if you have not yet sent yours, so get to it! :D If you want to drop out because you have grown uncomfortable or for any other reason, now is the time to tell me! No harm, no foul now, but if you do it after I distribute addresses, it messes things up. >.
Ideally, I'd like them by Sunday.

...you're mailing from the U.S. I'm not sure about other countries' rates. You'll have to look them up.
This idea is very shiny, so I'm in, spreading some Northern love. :3 Though last time I tried to send a postcard to Japan it took two months. =_=

Eight to ten is ideal, although I might launch it at six. B=No less though, because dropouts are liable to happen, and it's not a huge exchange with only four people! And I don't mind mailing stuff far! Mailing to Britain (and anywhere else that's not U.S./Canada) costs $1.05 US. As long as everyone knows that's a 'risk' they're taking. I'm going to add that under the opening post.
